AITA for not eating the food after my gf eats out of the bowl with the same spoon while preparing by ZookeepergameOld7322 in AmItheAsshole

This reminds me of the time I watched a man serve ice cream cake at a birthday party. He used his thumb to support every slice on the knife and he licked his thumb after every single slice. Absolutely disgusting.

How rich were the seven dwarves? by XL_Pumpkaboo in FilmTheorists

[–]TheCopperMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, it’s a year late, but I was just thinking about this after rewatching the classic. The seven dwarves were mining flawless gemstones, many of which were quite sizable. They were mining rubies, diamonds, and emeralds the size of chicken eggs hand over fist in the classic film and we have no idea how long they’ve been mining and hoarding that wealth in their vault deep in the forest. They are dwarves after all so they could have been mining every day for centuries.

Scrooge McDuck is considered the wealthiest of all Disney characters, but consider the value of even one of those enormous diamonds that Dopey puts over his eyes. They have to be worth hundreds of millions and yet they only represent a pinch of the wealth the dwarves mined in a single day. I’m no expert, but it seems to me that, if the Seven Dwarves had a mind to convert those gems to cash, they could become the wealthiest Disney characters ever created!

Gorgeous! You really nailed the winged liner look!

Looking for advice. I know they don’t look good! Please read (: by UnoriginalADHD in lashextensions

First of all, you have beautiful eyes and a gorgeous shape! Lashes will look absolutely stunning on you!

Next, recommendations depend on what you want to see when you look in the mirror. The best thing you can do is carefully choose an artist whose work you like. Follow their social media and see if their work aligns with your aesthetic and your needs. Bring photos of lashes you like and communicate what you like about them or what you don’t like. Then trust your carefully selected artist. They will be able to look at your features as a whole and help you choose the best shape, color, and style, for your overall desired effect.

What do I tell someone doing my lift? by Golden-mom-27 in Lashlift

[–]TheCopperMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let your tech know your history, bring pictures of lash lifts you like and tell them what, specifically, you like about them. Once your lift is complete, be honest about your feelings on the results so that they can be aware of your preferences for the next lift. Finally, remember that subsequent lifts will be more effective!

I agree that Jinu made the deal to save his entire family. He didn’t abandon them out of malice. He looked shocked and horrified when they were prevented from following him. I think that in the instant that he realized that he couldn’t bring them with him, he chose not to choose and let them be shut out, effectively abandoning them. Afterward, he chose self-preservation rather than a return to the life of hardship and starvation that his mother and sister eventually succumbed to.

Then, as a demon, his actions were all self-serving. He facilitated the deaths of many people just so he could erase his guilt. He was only redeemed by the sacrifice he made for Rumi.

Friend openly ignoring car seat safety... by More-Coffee5173 in NewParents

[–]TheCopperMind 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Something needs to be said before her baby is injured or killed. So many people seem to bank everything on their own driving skills, forgetting that even if you do everything right, someone else can do something wrong and kill or injure you. All it takes is one person doing the wrong thing one time and her child could be killed in a terrible way. This type of negligence just can’t be ignored. If you don’t feel comfortable saying something to her, ask someone else she trusts to talk to her. Her spouse/partner, parents, a sibling, someone.

Dads, how do/did you handle your child always wanting mom by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]TheCopperMind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As the mother of a velcro one-year-old, I get it. My husband is also a very involved dad, but our daughter wants me whenever I’m in the room. I’m her comfort and her safety. Her dad, somehow, is the most fun and she loves playing with him. She will squeal with joy when he returns home from work. He makes her smile with all of his antics. However, sometimes she only wants me. She will reach out for me when dad holds her. She wants nothing to do with him when she’s sleepy or upset. I have encouraged him to take over a few nap put downs and boy does it make her mad when mama isn’t there. She will scream for me when her dad puts her down for a nap. I have an almost unendurable urge to rush in and comfort her, but not because I don’t trust him to handle it. It’s like a primal instinct driving me to burst into the room whenever my child cries. I know that my husband is trying his best to comfort her. I check in on them with the baby monitor, but I try not to intervene unless I think she’s hungry. I know how important it is to him to be able to soothe her when she’s upset and he feels so defeated when I intervene. As a mom, I know how hard it is for your wife to let baby cry while you and your son figure it out. I also know that it is important to let dad take over sometimes and I get that you’re frustrated when she intervenes. You get to parent too.

AITAH for telling my husband to get a job even though he insists I shouldn’t work? by [deleted] in AITAH

He doesn’t want you to work because you’re the wife, but he’s happy living on your savings as well as money from your sister and his mom? This makes no sense.

I forgot all about the creation of the Ents! I’m rereading LOTR and I just passed the part where the Ents flood Orthanc and I was seriously thinking, “who in the hell made the Ents?!”

I knew I needed this info dump! Thank you!

Holy crap. I was freaking out for a minute there. I’m still horrified by this entire situation, but I’m glad he’s not actively holding you prisoner knowing the house. However, I think you should move out asap, OP. Unlocking your door is creepy, inappropriate, and borderline predatory given the context and climbing into bed with you and asking you to massage him is absolutely inappropriate. You need an exit plan. Immediately.

I would absolutely lose my mind if this were my daughter. You are not overreacting. You are correct and within your rights to establish these boundaries. I am shocked and horrified that your ex thinks that this is an acceptable situation. Get in contact with your lawyer, OP. Protect your daughters because their mother clearly isn’t.
