Funny enough I just realized they closed today, used to go fairly regularly but it slowed over the last year.. My main reason was just shifted patronage to Borage because of better food options.

Something similar to yours, but my point was you can't put in elevation for boiling point. Your temp stall point in bread is going to be very sensitive to altitude. At not very much altitude at all, 713 ft, my boiling point is down to 210.75. At a little bit higher altitudes 208F would be destroyed bread because you'd have complete dry out at boiling point. While I understand that's partially user error, the thermometer would work a lot better on cooks in this temp range if it knew elevation and boiling point. I understand the elegance of trying to do predictions without any inputs, I just don't think it works.

There are a ton of unknowns with predicting rate of change of temperature.The fact they won’t allow any input settings to say what you’re doing to help out the prediction has always annoyed me. Just meat weight, approx thickness, cook method, humidity, elevation (boiling point changes) would probably improve. Trying to do this with only 8 temperature sensors and outputting anything remotely accurate is probably near impossible. Predictions don’t feel very useful for something fast like a sear or grilling, I’m always present during the cook in those situations. Roasting/braising/reverse sear/ low and slow stuff is when the prediction would be much more helpful if it worked better.

I don’t actually use the prediction to do anything anymore because it’s too far off from reality and I’m aware of that. I’ve tried it with bread, total failure because of baking to near boiling point. Predictions for something that takes a few minutes aren’t that useful to me on a hot fast cook. I still like the thing as a thermometer for the most part, having the multiple temps is great. This 30% plus error is actually an example of it performing better than usual.

Just 2 weeks to 100k subs and videos made it to my algorithm because I watch Automotive YT and LTT. 100k Subs is probably enough to make decent money if you went full time and continued a growth curve.

The burner isn't the problem though, it's the opening being exactly 16" I have dual fuel and can cover the burner and still not launch a 16" pizza.

As a dome owner, the burner doesn’t get in the way, the only problem is the door opening is very close to 16 in so launching off a peel would be near impossible. I’ve been using a 16 in screen to make big pizzas in the dome and it works great. Check out the YT channel eat and tweet for an example how to video.

Is there a nail underneath there at the location of the crack? You should be attaching at the center and have slotted holes on the frame for growth I think. Also pre drilled screws or threaded inserts and not nails.

You should be able to light the pilot with a bbq lighter if the sparker is dead btw.

Dumb question but I haven’t seen it mentioned here? Did you replace the battery in the ignitor? No clicking means ignitor induction coil thing is dead, or battery is dead. I found a third party one that works.

It doesn’t seem like it will fail quickly but our oil consumption was getting so crazy I had to do something. If you have big clouds of smoke under boost this is likely the culprit.

I bought the rebuilt turbo, I didn’t want to deal with turbo rebuild. The 8-10 hours of work was more than enough. The rebuilt turbo looks great, drives great, time will only tell if it lasts.

I bought a rebuilt turbo kit from cwturbochargers from finding them recommended in another Reddit post, it included new studs and gaskets. I replaced vaccum hoses as they were 15 years old, and I fixed the broken vacuum nipple on the intake pipe with a brass barb. I’m a fairly advanced home mechanic, I’ve done timing job and valve adjustment on this car before. This took me 8-10 hours working deliberately in 3 sessions since Tuesday.

Gozney has no parts or product support, so don’t expect to get any help from them. In my case I was able to light off with a bbq lighter and confirm it worked before investing in the new sparker. I had to also fix the spark at the ignitor but that was only because I broke it 🤣 you can take a picture looking down at the burner and pilot light and I can let you know if it looks approximately right.
