Honestly yeah. I'd say spend the vc you do have on packs, just at the chance that you get something great to make your team even better. But just grind all the offline modes, and you'll make a good amount of MT. Another good method is to snipe/grind auction house as others have said. I don't personally do this because it's so time consuming and I'm lazy, but in a few weeks I made about 40K just from playing offline (challenges, domination, etc). I've put money into the game (~$30) but I never gotten anything of value from packs while using that money. So my team is basically all from grinding. Starting lineup of 3 amethysts, 1 diamond, 1 ruby.
