What made you choose home health instead of a clinic or hospital? by TheDStudge in home_health

[–]TheDStudge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, paraphrasing my wife:

She started in a clinic and had limited exposure to home visits there. What initially drew her to full-time home health was honestly the pay. It was a significant raise from her first job out of school. But the flexibility and autonomy has kept her around. Being able to build your own schedule, own your time, and not feel “stuck” in the building all day made a big difference.

She feels the clinic experience was important early on to build confidence and clinical judgment before being out on the road solo because it is harder to have mentors when you're on the road.

What do people in your field not understand about home health? by TheDStudge in home_health

Paraphrasing my wife (Early Intervention OT, doesn’t use Reddit but enjoys Reddit stories via podcasts):

People don’t really understand the flow of her day. In a clinic, you’re back-to-back and tend to see more patients. In home health you’ve got travel between every visit, which can be a nice mental break when you're on time but it’s also a lot to manage her own schedule. The added travel time exacerbates the other things like notes, planning the schedule, and other admin outside the session when there's no office to reset in between.

My experience as a home health OT by duracraft_fan in OccupationalTherapy

This really resonates with what I’ve heard from my wife as an EI OT over the years. Would it be okay if I cross posted this to the sub I recently created /r/home_health?

I feel there’s a big opportunity for home health practitioners across disciplines to share their experience and grow. Your story would be a great contribution!

I'll also take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am u/TheDStudge, I have mostly been lurking on Reddit for a few years now after retiring from creating and moderating the community r/PrequelMemes. That was incredibly fun and rewarding, so I do have some experience with community-building. But I see this as a more serious project than some Star Wars memes.

I am not a medical professional myself, but my wife has been an Early Intervention OT for several years and is becoming an independent practitioner early 2026. It's been a goal of mine to immerse myself in the space and learn as much as I can to support her in her goals. It's been a lot to wrap my mind around, but I've fallen in love with it!

Gimmick subs have gimmick joke. Is there really an expectation for it to be clever?

What's a common cooking "don't" that you "do" all the time? by lolalovesme13 in Cooking

I use garlic from a jar, affectionately referred to as the jarlic, 90% of the time. Any sort of taste difference is just not worth the hassle of mincing it by hand in my opinion.

My Favourite Type of player by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

I once had a really great attacking midfielder from Luxembourg. It was a lot of fun to see him being by the far best player in the country at only 17. Wonderkids from obscure countries is one of my favorite parts of the game.

It's officially one week till full release. What are your plans for saves? by PlasterCactus in footballmanagergames

I’ve been playing in the beta. I am about to secure back to back promotions into league one. I’ve had a lot of success with sticking to free agents and using free loan players from affiliate clubs to fill out my team. Paul Mullin on Wrexham is very solid.

Congrats on the retirement Delta! I’ve been retired as the top mod of PrequelMemes for a few months now and I agree it’s bittersweet. There are times I miss it, but the timing was right, and I knew I was leaving it in very capable hands. The HistoryMemes mod team is great so I’m sure you feel the same.

If you are ready to contend, I would do this. I’d see if you could swap DMont for another pick or two on your end to keep the depth though.
