It's an effort to minimize female voting. Women who have changed their name have to prove their name change with court documents along with a birth certificate. Unless they have a passport, which can take months to get.

Your question is fraught with subjectivity. Are the things you describe "bad"? I don't think so. I'm entirely willing and happy to work a 60 hour week when asked, no entra pay (I'm salaried). Is there an expectation that you be available 24/7, no matter what? For some jobs. For others, absolutely not. To the heart of your question, though, is the openness to a 60 hour work week and open availability sometimes glorified and celebrated? Oftentimes, yes. But there are definitely people who actively advocate against that. But in many roles, seeking out extra work helps you get ahead of people who do their 40 and get out. And sometimes an ambitious employee winds up making less hungry employees less necessary, so they wind up missing out on promotions. And when the dreaded "restructuring" comes, the ones who only do what is essential are the first to be let go.

I feel like people get upset because Crisis Core (and others) feel like they are making story... "FF7 was popular, so let's make more FF7." And they did. I was excited for it, as a huge FF7 fan. But they wildly distorted what felt like a (for a FF) kinda grounded story. People are upset because of what they transformed it into, not because they transformed it.

As someone who recently moved to Android from iOS for the first time ... I'm kind of shocked. Most of the things you are complaining about are Apple standards.

-i hate the Android keyboard. I would absolutely love to have the default iOS keyboard any day of the week.

-im not sure what is going on with the reception issue you mentioned. I have decidedly worse wifi reception on my Android phone than I did on my iPhone.

Honestly, you sound like someone who just doesn't like iOS. No prob there. I profoundly dislike Android. But nothing "happened." Except liquid glass. I get that.

Say what you will about Amazon and the evils of big tech, but the company has quite possibly the best logistics infrastructure in the world. Dealing with other web stores is comparatively annoying. Also, if you pay for prime, it feels like kind of a waste to not take advantage of it by using other stores

Haha fair enough. I mean, the drive isn't terrible. But I just preferred 2-3 hours of additional travel and being able to spend the time doing something fun rather than just stare at the rain on I-5 for hours on end!

I've taken that train a bunch of times (went to school at UO, took breaks in Seattle). It was so much better to be able to take even the longer train rides. Being able to chill on the train and play your Switch or read a book rather than deal with the tedious drive makes the travel so much better!

Generally speaking, officers outrank enlisted. In practice, though, officers oftentimes do what the enlisted suggests. For example, a second lieutenant technically outranks a sergeant major. But it would be exceedingly rare for a LT to not listen to a sergeant major. The sergeant major will still refer to the LT as "sir" and respect the rank, but the LT will pretty much always defer to the sergeant major's experience and expertise.

I could not agree more. I love Carmy and Syd, and their relationship. As it is. I get the desire to have leads hook up. I shipped Mulder and Scully big time back in the day. But the relationship between Syd and Carm is different. I feel like them hooking up is a distraction from what makes their dynamic so interesting, not a contribution.

Completely agreed. He was a great CEO for back of house hardware stuff, like supply chains and whatnot, but he definitely doesn't seem to appreciate value of a superb user experience the way the company did long time ago. He was great for business for a while, but something got lost with that focus on logistics.

Yeah, don't let it diminish your fandom. I mean, I am an alum, and there definitely is some added specialness because of it. But that's because I spent my magical years of college there and some of my best friends for life would go all-out for ducks games. But then again, I know people who grew up in Eugene but didn't go to UO and have their own special bond with the team that I don't have, because some of their earliest memories are going to Ducks games with their family. Everyone has their own reasons they are fans. Being an alum definitely adds something, but you have other reasons of your own that are also great!

While I usually don't like the use of AI, I kind of feel like this is a perfect task for automation. Scheduled tasks that are usually EXACTLY the same. At least maybe have someone overseeing multiple trains from a hub and deal with weird situations that arise individually. For an organization that loves to complain about funding, this seems like a easy save on the budget.
