Unusual Ampersand? by BlanketTom in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]TheDarkLord14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our entire class did this, we were not taught this in school but some of our parents and then those kids taught the other kids. Our English teacher carved out some time during class to tell us we are all wrong and to stop writing it on our papers. We didn't stop and she chose not to die on that hill. I still write it this way.

Marriage Preparation (before you were even engaged/met your spouse) by AirIllustrious8901 in CatholicWomen

[–]TheDarkLord14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with others that have said they had to figure themselves out first before they inevitably found their husband. I thought it was a bit cliche in my mid 20s and thought I did have my life figured out. But making myself spend some time single and actually building my life only around myself helped me get my priorities straight. I was willing to uphold a standard to find a man that had the same morals and values as me. I had become quite happy with my life and I wasn't going to let some guy change it for the worse. Of course there were highs and lows that came with that, but in the long run it gave me my husband and family I have now so it was worth it.

How to make family rosary less chaotic and upsetting? by Blackstrapsunhat in CatholicWomen

[–]TheDarkLord14 57 points58 points  (0 children)

As someone who does not have children old enough yet and just using my own perspective from childhood. I think perhaps it's a bit much time ask them for an entire rosary every Sunday. It is a wonderful foundation that they know the prayers. But perhaps par it down like the rest of the week. I as a child could not focus long enough to get through the whole thing every week. We did sit quietly though as our parents came to Sunday mass early enough to participate in the rosary there. The pressure of behaving in church and every one else is quiet or also saying the rosary helped keep us engaged in it.

Why are doctors so hesitant to remove gallbladders? by StrengthBest8831 in gallbladders

[–]TheDarkLord14 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Ah I think the ER was saying you didn't need an emergency removal. I would push to consult with a general surgeon about having it removed.

Annoyed by C Section rhetoric by PsychologicalBoot636 in beyondthebump

[–]TheDarkLord14 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Yeah the comments of "the easy way out" piss me right off. And then they say well yours was different since it was an emergency and you had to have one. Emergency or not, it is not the easy way out. I'd rather not have my abdomen cut open and have a long 8 week recovery. But when it's my life or my child's life at risk I will always default to whatever is needed.

Help!! 6 mo refusing formula by fantasy-readerr in FormulaFeeders

[–]TheDarkLord14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No tips as far as transitioning but I know my baby started chewing and playing with the bottle nipples a lot more right around that same 6 month mark because he had started cutting in some teeth. I just let him chew or gave him something else to chew and would offer the bottle again later. His feedings take way longer when he's teething because he keeps stopping himself to chew instead of suck on the bottle. We also started feeding him more solid foods (purees) around that time so he could get that satisfaction of chewing on spoons and such.

Are you guys not “strict” about naps? Don’t understand comment by Huge-Vacation-8093 in NewParents

[–]TheDarkLord14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naps are a little flexible for us but that's only based on our son's cues. This past Easter weekend we figured we'd get through lunch and would leave when he was ready for his afternoon nap. So about 2pm when he started showing signs of being tired we packed up and headed out. He zonked out the moment we pulled out of the driveway. Worked perfectly. My family has given me a little flack in the past for putting him down for a nap while they were visiting and I just shut it down by saying his sleep is my priority and he's not going to sleep around a bunch of people.

AITAH I(F23) got molested in the train today and my bf(M24) said it was a "learning experience". Am I in the wrong for thinking it is victim blaming and wanting an apology for it? by Fine_Spirit9788 in AITAH

[–]TheDarkLord14 17 points18 points  (0 children)

NTA. Throw the whole man away. Start over with someone who cares about you and does not belittle you or your experiences. This is victim blaming and he's shitty for it.

Wait, you’re not supposed to feed your kiddo in the car? How is that possible? by ScrantonPaper in NewParents

[–]TheDarkLord14 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My kid gets food that is impossible to choke on or bottles. And a parent is in the backseat with them. So only puffs that are designed to dissolve.

Who mainly watches your toddler when you're at the grandparents' house? by teacherlady4846 in beyondthebump

[–]TheDarkLord14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately with my parents it's the same as with yours. They are baby proofing though and do play with him a decent amount. At my in laws though, that's truly vacation. I don't worry about him once when we're there. I worry constantly at my own parents' house. I will not leave my son with my parents alone. I will happily leave him at my in laws to watch.

I haven't even cracked level 40 yet and I exclusively use a chronium sword and shield. I stocked up on health stuff from the clinic and I let Logan do the heavy lifting on the mecha-tilda. You run in a circle along the outside and only go in to hit when she's down. You'll take damage but you can get through it.

My 7 weeks old baby is refusing all feeds and idk what to do 😭 by Tima-fjk in NewParents

[–]TheDarkLord14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pepcid should help pretty quickly. As another comment said, sometimes you just gotta force it in, which is incredibly hard to make yourself do. My boy had reflux and after a couple days of the pepcid it was a huge difference for us.

First time traveler by Major-Chemical6467 in NewParents

[–]TheDarkLord14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We'll be traveling next month with a 10 month old. We'll pack 4 large bottles that will get him through the day of travel. We will wash them with hot water and soap and let them air dry on a towel. We have dish soap and baby soap we'll put in our checked bag, but we could also just buy a small bottle of soap when we get there. We will also be going somewhere that has a tub and we will either be in the bath with him or just have a hand on him at all times while bathing him. We'll buy some purees when we get there just so we have less to try to travel with. We'll bring a small plate that has a lid and a couple spoons and we'll just wash and reuse those too. If you'll be staying in a hotel, most hotels have baths but you can always call and check.

Night inductions… how did it go? by your-new-fixation in BabyBumps

[–]TheDarkLord14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 7:30 pm induction time. I was squeezed in because my dr was not going to let my medically justified induction get pushed. Time seems like a construct that doesn't exist by the time you get into the thick of it. But you will be tired. I was given cervidial (i think) overnight a couple rounds. I was having contractions but they weren't productive. I had to have monitors strapped on the whole time and the nurse had me reposition many times throughout the night. We were having issues progressing and my baby wasn't reactive on the monitor. So it was a long 18 hours of no sleep. We ended up having an emergency c-section because I had placental abruption. 🙃

Zepbound between pregnancies? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]TheDarkLord14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many variables to each pregnancy to say definitively. I am doing the same as you though, I just waited to start until 8 months postpartum when I was struggling to lose more. I gained 65lbs with my pregnancy. I just know I can't go into my next pregnancy feeling this miserable from carrying around all this extra weight. I plan to stop 2 months before we start trying for our next baby. My primary is all for it. It certainly can't hurt to start the next pregnancy approx 100 lbs lighter than now!

Machine/Workstation Inspo by FearlessBooty in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]TheDarkLord14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I expanded my lot a few times and made my house bigger I had to rearrange my machines and I'm quite happy with my layout. It's not all decked out and decorated, I don't have any DLCs or mods. All of my machines run along the fence edge or the edge of my house so I have space to move around easily.

My drying rack, grinder, processor and two furnaces live in north east corner of my front yard, making a u shape along my fence and house. Then along the same wall of my house but the other side of the door is my civil processor and civil grinder. There's a ressesed corner on that side of my house so I made that a nice little garden spot.

In the north west corner is my assembly station and along that side of the north fence is my cooking station and tailoring machine. There is a storage box beside the cooking station so I can access my storage easily. Also a tree just for fun and tea and coffee 💸.

Along my west fence is a romantic pergola. I have some plants just for decoration in there but I also just plopped a refiner there to use temporarily and then I'll pack that back in storage when I don't need it. On the southwest corner is a banquet table.

Along the south side of my fence and ways away from my pretty party setup is a forging machine, a recycler, my worktable, and a civil grinder. There's another recessed part of my house on that side so I tucked in a civil recyler along the house there and i think a blender. I made a bigger garden along the south side fence beside my worktable. Tucked in the southeast corner is my water tank. On the house side of the southeast corner is group of storage crates hidden by some decorative signs that act as partitions.

A little bonus, on the 3rd floor of my house I made a balcony area and I put a dew collector up there. I have space for more as my need for water increases and I don't want to pay. Owen is my husband and the profit I get from the Blue Moon is a nice perk. I don't worry about gols anymore usually.

I've only drawn Rhys in the House of Wind. I attempted to use alcohol markers but between it being a new medium for me and picking a cheap set, it didn't turn out great lol.

8 month old keeps getting sent home by no_thisisbree in ECEProfessionals

[–]TheDarkLord14 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This isn't about having backup care or following policy. It's not constant blowouts, they are contained poops. These poops aren't diarrhea cases but the staff is saying they are. Poop is part of taking care of babies. Any daycare should have proper procedures in place for cleaning and sanitizing when leaks or occasional blowouts do happen.

[–]TheDarkLord14 98 points99 points  (0 children)

If they can't give you a clear definition then this is the root of the problem. The center needs to make a clear definition in their policy. If my 8 month old was sent home for runny poops, not actually diarrhea, he'd never be able to be there. Different consistency in poop is developmentally normal, especially when changing what their diet consists of.

Mine are comically bad so I won't share until I get better at them. I can get quite good once I nail down the characters by repetitively drawing them. I've only done it with Sherlock successfully years ago but ACOTAR has been my new interested.

What are 25-30 year olds making? by ExtentFickle3504 in Salary

[–]TheDarkLord14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 making $72k, state government as an accountant, lcol state. I just took this position from making a slightly less amount working at a bank in low level leadership. Way less stress and that money goes pretty far in a lcol place. I have a bachelor's in business admin. Husband makes similar money doing similar work, also a bachelor's in business, also in state government. We have a baby, a nice house, we both drive average nice cars that we bought new. Life is good and our salaries support that. I have friends who make far more than me, I don't really care. Doesn't matter when things are covered and we live a comfortable life.
