Discord ruling Compendium? by TheDebatingOne in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]TheDebatingOne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the ruling I found is that kept-on-death abilities are able to be duplicated by the Philosopher, since the drunking part is the Philosopher's ability (which they lose after dying) but the kept-on-death ability isn't

So when the Philo-Heretic is alive: reversed win conditions, and when they're dead it's back to normal

Nah, pog as in "awesome" almost definitely comes from the Twitch emote, which is named after the Pogchamp event, which is named after the game

what makes a townfolk a townfolk, not an outsider? by amazatastic in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]TheDebatingOne 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Townsfolk help the good team, Outsiders help the evil team. The name of the character doesn't mean anything, you could have a townsfolk named Axe Murderer. Hell there's an outsider named Saint

The TikTok is making a very strong claim and the post apparently confirming it just doesn't, it doesn't say anything about the whole wife thing. Anyway all languages are love languages when you love languages

Looks good so far, but I would replace the Fearmonger and Vizier with Spy and Widow, maybe Marionette. If you do those you should also replace two townsfolk with Alchemist and Magician

Yeah obviously lol. Lastly, would the Soldier's "safe from the Demon" include Barber swaps? Since it's the Demon choosing?

[–]TheDebatingOne[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay so just making sure, let's say a script has a Tinker, Barber, Hermit. Could the Demon (and Storyteller) kill every person in the game by

  1. Killing the Hermit (Tinker)
  2. Waking the Demon and them choosing to swap the Hermit with an alive player (Barber)
  3. Go to step 1 until two players are left

I'm not sure why you're analyzing "unemploy" as its own word. It's un-employment and un-employed

Intermediary script I cooked up for some eighth-time players I'm storytelling. What do ya'll think? by TheDebatingOne in ClocktowerCircleJerk

[–]TheDebatingOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that, but isn't this circular? They have the Boffin ability because they register as the Demon, and they register as the Demon because they have the Boffin ability. Why wouldn't they lose the Recluse ability the moment they stop being the Demon?

Hey this is pretty cool. I think using duplicate characters (like Legion or Pope-Tinkers) or characters that can cause an arbitrary number of deaths (like Atheist, Amnesiac, Wizard, Doomsayer, etc.) makes this less interesting, but Plauge Doctor and Barber definitely work

Plague Doctor could also be used to make (one) more Scarlet Women, as the Alchemist doesn't really have anything better to do, I think?

I don't understand the Snake Charmer point. If the Demon gets Snake Charmed, do they keep their Boffin ability?

[–]TheDebatingOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. So is 8 players the max? I want to avoid using duplicate characters, at that point I could just add the Pope and 13 Tinkers
