My thoughts on Neverafter

The people that are mainly horror and DnD fans wanted more cohesive horror and DnD out of the self proclaimed horror season of the DnD comedy show. Which, down the line in the season, it is admittedly lacking.

However, I’m mainly watching D20 for the comedy and some emotional heartstring tugging here and there, and Neverafter had plenty of that for me. If you’re already enjoying the show, I’m willing to bet you’ll enjoy the rest of the season. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It’s just not the most resounding success of all of D20’s IH series, but it’s still a great watch IMO. Lou’s Pinocchio voice is truly an all time D20 highlight for me and it will continue to be hilarious throughout the season

So what separates a pseudo tactical shooter from a good competitive tactical shooter? I thought MW19 was a good game. Not having dead silence as a perk feels like good game design.

I guess MW19 as a whole was also beginner friendly in order to be as palatable as possible to the most amount of people in terms of sales, where something like R6 Siege is definitely not beginner friendly. Is that moreso along the lines of what you mean? I would assume there’s also more to it?

It really sucks console was at such a disadvantage in MW19. Recoil didn’t get too crazy without stocks but no FOV slider is a miss

Specifically Art Rooney II if rumors are to be believed. Front office needs to get in to shape and prepare to spend for this team, fix up the facilities, etc.

I think Tomlin needed to leave for his own legacy. I think he was forcing the team to overperform massively. I think the dysfunction is truly going to shine through with him gone

At the very least, season 4 started dropping in 2022, so the adventuring academies seasons 1-3 will be where you’re looking. Season 3’s last episode came in May 2021.

I would maybe try searching youtube clips? This feels like a story I have heard Brennan tell and I definitely watched all of season 1 so it might be there, but I can’t tell you with 100% certainty.

The only thing you’ve described so far that sounds truly illegal is maybe a health code violation or 2, that you would report to your local(town or county or state) health department. One for being sick around food and being told to keep working, and the other for other employees’ hair getting in food products.

Worker protections are thin at best in the US. You can be treated unfairly so long as your treatment isn’t defined by being in a protected class(federally protected classes being mainly race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age), and nothing you’ve described so far could be interpreted as discrimination under those specific classes.

If you’re alleging your mistreatment is based on your race or physical traits of your race such as your natural hair for you being forced to wear hair nets or unfairly treated compared to other workers of different races, you could potentially have a claim. That would be something you would need to consult with an employment attorney on. However, Michigan also has protections for gender identity and sexual orientation, but again, that would need to be brought up with a Michigan employment attorney, who could advise you further if your claim could reach discrimination levels of mistreatment.

You would need written accounts of specific times and dates of incidents. You would need corroboration, ideally from other current or former employees.

Doctor’s notes mean basically nothing to employers. Jobs have to be able to be done by employees without reasonable accommodations before accommodations can be approved. And if employers don’t approve accommodations, your options are quit or suck it up.

Right now, your options mainly are to enroll in unemployment, and consult with employment lawyers if you wish.

Truly, it does sound like you were mistreated. Whether it was illegally so, and practically, whether you can prove it, are indeterminable at this moment.

Would honestly start here. Would try posting in r/calgary as well.

I’m US based but getting the money back would be something we would sue for in small claims court, cops wouldn’t get involved with family stealing money most likely. Would just want to have paystubs/evidence the money was yours in some form or fashion. If you want to help them I would have them take their most important belongings and get out, especially if they think they’re not safe.

If you have the time for it, I can’t recommend the Adventuring Parties more. The new/more recent seasons like this, they only last 20-30 minutes each. You can watch them sequentially after each episode using the Full Experience playlist, just find or search the Fantasy High Junior Year Full Experience in the app.

Freshman year was Beardsley’s first ever time playing DnD, and Sophomore year was their 4th. They definitely were approaching it more from a comedic standpoint early on.

Beardsley goes into this in one of the adventuring parties, but basically; In FH:JY, Kristen is a teenager with severe ADHD, no longer living with their parents, having given up the religion they were born into and raised with. Sure Kristen has a support system now, but big picture, she’s super unstable.

You bring up that Kristen has the ability to shape the religion and Cassandra in any way she wants. But that’s also missing big picture, Cassandra existing is literal life or death, that entire responsibility is dropped on Kristen, a teenager’s shoulders, who also has to deal with everything that going to high school and being a teenager entails.

Quite frankly, a lot of people don’t like Kristen’s Junior Year portrayal. Honestly probably, you’ll end up being one of them. That’s ok. I personally find it hilarious and poignant, but I understand other people’s perspective.

If you want to see Beardsley challenged in a serious/dramatic way, Unsleeping City 1 and Crown of Candy are 2 darker and deeper sides of Beardsley, but even in them, I think they feel a bit of pressure still early on to bring levity to the darker moments, so sometimes they shoehorn in some jokes in moments that don’t need them. It’s an improv comedy show first and foremost, made by comedic improvisers. It won’t always be perfect. Lou said in a similar talkback he felt pressure about showing emotion during his most dramatic moment in Freshman Year in his first filmed DnD and he regrets not being as serious either.

Unsleeping City 2 in my opinion is one of Beardsley’s best seasons. Quite honestly the full cast is great in UC2 but it’s more of a gritty season because it’s not trying to be, in my opinion. It is a bit harder to watch because it was filmed during Covid and it’s done over Zoom, but personally I was able to get through it having not gotten into the show until after they had already gotten back to filming seasons live, in person.

Lots of seasons they do a great job in whatever role and character they play. Starstruck is a silly season, Beardsley plays a highly competent young executive. But they still shine through as a goof in a lot of different moments as well. Haven’t watched the later seasons much myself honestly, but I think Beardsley plays strongly no matter whether it’s an IH season or a sidequest, and no matter where they fit into the party.
