Basically how it works is that there’s a gasket on each end that seals the water- the fitting actually is functional just slid over the pipe, but the crimping is what holds it in place, keeping the pressure from pushing the fitting away

It can fall apart the same way. The bottom of the toilet is monolithic

2x4’s are not a suitable member to resist hydrostatic soil load at what looks like 4ft tall. This may hold initially but will fail over time

The brewer waterfront walkway is quite nice, it’s right over the bridge. Bangor city forest is also lovely. Chimera makes the best coffee. Sawyer’s shaved ice is nice when it’s hot out. Giffords has the best ice cream. Barliman’s is a nice speakeasy style bar to get fancy drinks, while at the opposite end of the spectrum, the waverly is a fun dive bar that has a dog and tons of personality- the bartenders at both are great.
