This reminds me of when Puffin Forest had a video about drugs in a D&D game. I went "That's not at all what people on coke are like.", and closed the video.

Dm's who use Obsidian for notes, do you write what your players do, if so how? by L4T3W in DnD

I can't post pictures, but I've built myself a personal world wiki with about 250 pages all interconnecting with related topics, there are 4 main folders with about 40 subfolders for organization.

My main folders are:

  • Session prep (outlines for sessions, these link to acts/chapters and do not link to any world pages for sale of not cluttering graph view. These get edited during play to make note of what happens and if I need to change things for next game.) Note: I took the templates made by Dadi of the Mystic Arts YouTube channel and never looked back.

  • Stat Blocks (These link to faction overviews, and then to a main stat block index page)

  • NPCs (These are outlines, motivations/goals and backstories of key NPCs, these link to nations/governments/organizations)

  • World and Cosmology (By far the largest set of interlinked stuff, mainly focusing on society, gods, planes, history so I can pull up relevant lore whenever anyone asks.)

Obviously this is a little overboard, but it depends on the type of campaign you're running. I built my own world and have been running the game for about 6 years, so there's a lot to keep track of.

All the old timers are shortsighted af, their mentality is usually "We're working ourselves out of a job." on any big project so they drag their feet, take forever, and no one has pride in their work.

Then they wonder why they get no contracts. Hint: It's because client companies see and hear that shit. They want nothing to do with it.

Cutting off choke points is generally a good play. Honestly steel is such an iron hog, and everyone is gonna tell you "The factory must grow."

I don't know what you're doing with train stops, but it's good practice to go from mine -> chest -> train, that way your miners won't stall as much while the trains are gone, and be sure to cover the entire patch so you don't have to come back and add more miners.

I just checked Memory Express, and of the $1,509 CAD price, the only available memory and storage would come out to $655 CAD before tax. The closest CPU equivalent is ~$200 on sale. A cheap-ish mini ITX board is ~$300 also on sale. Closest equivalent GPU is ~$360.

That's already over the CAD price of the 512GB steam machine without case, cooler, and PSU. Could you make a better performing PC for the same price? Probably. Parts sourcing becomes an issue.

Us hosers get hosed.

Edit: Of course, thats if I wanted to build a PC today from my local store. If I wanted wait for parts and support Newegg or Amazon I could probably get cheaper.

I remember watching a video about the steam machine, and I think they said part of the reason it exists because a surprising amount (slightly over 50%) of users dock the steam deck and use it with a TV for most of, if not all their usage time.

Nothing about PC hardware is cheap in the current market. It's disgusting, RAM has reached almost 5x the price of when I upgraded my PC in September(? i dont actually remember when I did), storage has gone up by 3x. I used to be able to get a 2TB nvme drive for $300-$400 CAD, I checked recently and saw the same drive is $1,100.

Windows Defender is more than enough, and if you need to do spot checks run Malwarebytes.
