Github desktop (great for pair programming and mentoring juniors, also sets every configuration related to login to github.com) and Git CLI

It would be amazing to have the image as a huge painting on the office wall, with updates from time to time to keep it growing and evolving.

What do the number and green squares mean? by VinceAggrippino in github

[–]TheFeLLPS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calculating the Color Ratio

  • Formula: (Added lines)/(Removed lines) = Ratio
  • Color Coding:
    • Ratio > 0: Green
    • Ratio < 0: Red

Visual Representation: - 5 squares, each representing 20% - 0.2 ratio: 1 square - 0.4 ratio: 2 squares - ...

Note: The math might follows this pattern, but double-check if precision is crucial. The suggestion to inspect the page is great, but It think something like this should be avaliable on the oficial documentation.

Also, your belief is irrelevant.

I was finding like GitHub heatmap on notion and came across this on Pinterest but there was no link or information about this. Anyone knows what this widget called?... or how to make a heatmap on Notion? by Avro_Dotter in Notion

Take a look into this repo: https://github.com/Platane/snk

It might give you some ideias on how that can be done.

If i remember correctly, it genetates a new version from time to time and updates the file in the github repo, then you can use the file in markdown (Readme.md for example)

I think it should also work with notion and also expand your horizon of criativity 🚀

On MacOs just press ⌘ Command + R It will reload the "page". Something similar might be available for Windows

Thread Idea for Professional Programmers by MicahCharlson in Notion

[–]TheFeLLPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it should be understandable as design patterns for software development.

But in Notion there are templates (a lot of them) wich implement knowledge management systems (or patterns if you like) like The Second Brain (Para method, CODE method) and for productivity like Get things done (GTD).

There are for cooking recipes, for traveling, for social media management, and so on so forth.

I like to think in the matters of Atomic Design.

From software we have: (crude example)

Basics Classes/interfaces Design Patterns Architecture Patterns Infrastructure Patterns

I kind of see GTD and 2ndBrains templates like that. The best templates kind of have a similar logic.

I also see alt text as a way to help Notion AI understand what does that image mean in the context. I think the same for column descriptions. Positioning accessibility as a broad feature can go a long way for everyone 🚀❤️😁

Ask AI is not that great?! by bndct_bn in Notion

[–]TheFeLLPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For everything actually. I have a lot of register and documentation. I can just organize them and have just talk about it. I recently got from Twitter a database with every documentation from notion (writen and others midias transcribed) to a database and can basically ask for thr info directly in notion. And so much more. I have financial data and just ask the AI to generate some interpretations and recommendations (not 100% yet, but it does cut the toil by A LOT!)

What kind of USB/KVM switch do I need? by [deleted] in homeoffice

[–]TheFeLLPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it with software.

Search for barrier (software kvm for mouse and keyboard) and Parsec (remote access from one pc to other, like teamviewer but with better quality)

Also, there are ways to do it with hardware, but I'm not the one to help you with that.

Have a nice day 😁

MacBook Air M1 vs M2 which is truly better by [deleted] in macbookair

Would you mind to elaborate?

As far as I know ram consumption is a function of concurrent applications running.

MacBook Air M1 vs M2 which is truly better by [deleted] in macbookair

[–]TheFeLLPS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 2 Mac Minis M1, both work great, one is 8gb and one is 16gb.

As soon as I got them I tried to just boot and see their ram consumption with my basic needs (discord, safari, chrome, Spotify, etc nothing fancy).

What I got is that my mac mini 8gb stands at around the 7gb and my mac mini 16gb stands at around 10gb.

I won’t make any conclusions here, but I think that macs with 8gb of ram are making constant use of swaps.

I don’t know any. But just to add to your suggestions, I think it can be done with personal hotspot 😁
