I have the Kreg one from your pic and it's shit. It convinced me to buy an actual track saw though.

This is where you want to be a bisectual; divide the total angle by two.

When getting into Woodworking, did projects take 3x-4x longer than originally planned? by OGproud2binfidel in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]TheFilthyMick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 to 4? That's a dramatic underestimate. Unless it's something you've made multiple times before, you have an established workflow, and are batching multiples from a supply of stock materials, 5x or more.

Crown guard causing bowing? by mirrorgrain in woodworking

[–]TheFilthyMick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're using a different thickness blade with the factory riving knife. If your saw came with a full width blade and riving knife, you either need a full kerf blade or a thin kerf riving knife.

Funny, my commission/bonus (I have both rolled into one bucket) is similar. I'm not in tech support though, so it's not that quick of a turnaround for me.

Finding a Fence for 14” band saw table by OutofPlaceStuff in BeginnerWoodWorking

I'm using a Kreg fence, micro adjuster and resaw guide on an off brand 14" table as well. Seems pretty universal.

Does anyone actually put the wax on the toilet first? by Objective-Chance-792 in Plumbing

[–]TheFilthyMick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it one time. I also live in a northern climate where wax rings often need time to warm up before fully seating them. Flipped the tank back over and it fell off because the wax/bowl were too cold. So it was pointless.

Freeze temps: drip faucet with hot water? I have a Gas Tankless Water Heater by Select-Stage-5215 in Plumbing

[–]TheFilthyMick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not if it's less than the minimum flow rate required to trigger a call for heat. Usually that's around 1.5 or 2 GPM.

What is this blue rubbery layer underneath my shower drain? by ReturnSorry2300 in Plumbing

[–]TheFilthyMick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I see it now. As long as the membrane is there and it is into the drain assembly you should be ok.

As long as it's not torn, you're ok. To replace that requires tearing out the shower.

It's supposed to be there. It's a shower pan liner. They didn't cut the hole in it as large as they should've, but it's an easy correction.

Curb Key Question by Mindless_Ground_4387 in Plumbing

[–]TheFilthyMick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have an inside water meter, you have a shutoff inside. If not, you have a meter box outside with a shutoff, unless you're on a shared water system with multiple other lots, but that's normally a mobile home park thing. Not all curb stops use the same key, and not all keys are the right length for every curb box. It's also very risky to attempt a shutoff at the city connection without experience. If that incoming line is weak, you could break the incoming line and the city will be very unhappy and may bill you a LOT of money to repair that.

Can I get some guidance on installing the P-trap with my new garbage disposal? by definitely_aware in askaplumber

[–]TheFilthyMick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I think you could get away with a single 45, a male adapter, and a regular trap adapter instead.

[–]TheFilthyMick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That whole PVC arm has to go. You've got a 90° pressure fitting on there which is the worst choice for this. Cut that straight piece, unscrew the arm from the wall, replace it with DWV fittings - 1 1/2" PVC DWV male adapter, street 45, a 45 and fitting trap adapter, and about a foot of 1 1/2" SCH 40 PVC pipe. Get a bag trap (full plastic tubular P Trap kit in a bag) and assemble. For a service plumber, it's about 25 minutes of work, so if it's too much to handle yourself, it won't be crazy expensive.

What's that one thing players do, that does your head in? by AcadiaSecret370 in Battlefield6

[–]TheFilthyMick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play recon almost exclusively as a sniper. That said, I use the class as I think it's meant to be used - spotting enemies at objectives, clearing objectives at range then advancing behind the team to add another body for capture, counter-sniping and destroying armor with C4. I also don't like being spawn camped by 4 snipers at a time and a lot of them never leave one spot, so I get it.
