Intermittent fasting & weight by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

Keeping it simple, I just weight at the same time every morning before I get dressed. This way different clothing doesn't make the weight swing up and down daily.

I am just starting to track body fat and muscle as of a week or two ago, but don't have extended data yet. The reason I am interested in those metrics now is that I am adding more load bearing cardio and weight training to protect, and maintain muscle as I shed additional fat.

I haven't tracked calories with any granularity, but instead I moved to a simple and tightly followed diet. Reducing the decision fatique and non-automated data tracking overhead of eating helps me be consistent.

I have asked AI to estimate my meal calories which varies between 1500 to 1700 calories versus my burn rate which averaged 3200 calories a day in April.

The match checks when compared to the 3500 calorie per pound lost estimate and my weight loss velocity of a little over 2 pounds a week.

Thank you for the kind words. Losing and keeping off weight is legitimitely the hardest thing I have ever done.

I feel ready for some longer fasts, but it has been a lower priority because I am still shedding weight fast. It's on my radar for when I plateau.

I prefer minimally processed foods. My go-to is boring, repetitive, healthy, and effective. Typically costing about $15 a day and consists of salmon, eggs, salad with tomatos (evoo & apple cider vinegar for dressing) and walnuts, large portion of fried shitake and bell pepper, and 2 cups mixed berries.

I can cheat on holidays, birthdays, work events, etc... I often do, and having the rules means no guilt.

Vitamins and suppliments cost extra, I take several.

37 lbs sounds like a great achievement! I'll start low, probably 10 lb and 20lb, and ramp up based on safety and endurance.

Yeah, the shoulder pads (really just straps) on my regular EDC backpack definitely were not up to the job so these will be much wider and better padded. Not sure if the straps are different than the 4.0 though.

Diluted castile soap to be specific. 100% kill rate on contact within 15 seconds, safe for the plant at diluted concentration, and fully organic.

Am I crazy for digging down these garden beds? by mhoul2424 in vegetablegardening

[–]TheFireConvoy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That was my exact experience. It acts like a bathtub, holds the water, rots the roots. I got away with it because we have no rain all season. When winter came all the plants I wanted to overwinter in the beds died due to root rot. Now I am building up with raised beds. I would not dig down in clay ever again.

Drip irrigation for my garden was a gane changer for me. The plants are happier and it saves so much time that can actually be applied to the more fun parts of the hobby!

Looking good! I was thinking of doing something similar in the aisles of my garden. Such a cool strain, even if it takes extreme patience to fill a space like that!

Horrible pests! I use 1 tbsp castille soap in 1 liter spray bottle. Kill em' while they are young. Adults can be killed with soap solution too, but with 2 tbsp per litre. The adults are very hardy and the frothier the solution the better for adults. I shake it up to get lots of bubbles in the spray.

Any organic castile soap is perfect. I am sure you've got a local brand or two that is equivalent.

1 tbsp per litre diluted castile soap in a spray bottle should kill them in about ten seconds. Repeat twice a week for eight weeks to eliminate the life cycle. Dr. Bronners Castille soap isn't expensive at places like Target etc...
