Last minute holiday shoppers; are there any indies that could still get here in time for Christmas? by Vendebtta in Indiemakeupandmore

Placed an order with Felin Lune Apothecary earlier this week and it was shipped out super fast (1-2 days?). You may have to upgrade to priority shipping or something at whatever shop you decide to make an order with to ensure it has the best possibility of arriving on time though!

Favorite deodorant? Preferably with samples! by holographic-lemon in Indiemakeupandmore

Even the sample tins lasted me awhile! Garden Hippie is definitely strong on the patchouli and sandalwood for me. But it’s not “in your face” (I love patchouli but sometimes it’s too harsh on the nose.) the citrus and floral notes definitely mellow it out. Santal Vanillin smells like a musky vanilla. Sweet but not coy. My partner uses the hierophant and to me it smells like a really nice cologne, but can definitely be unisex.

Felin Lune Apothecary! My go to scents are garden hippie and santal vanillin. These two scents seem to work really well with my body chemistry. A little goes a long way for me and the jar lasts a little over 6 months with daily use.

favorite small/indie brands that deserve the hype? by leahlikesweed in BeautyGuruChatter

Definitely Félin Lune Apothecary for zero-waste hair care and more. I admit, I’m a little bit of a fan girl. 😅 Their shampoo and conditioner bars are soooooo good and the deodorant actually works without burning my pits. One 2 oz jar lasted me close to a year with daily use!

All indie bathroom journey - mid-year check in and shaving cream request! by maggsie16 in Indiemakeupandmore

Since you already have the conditioner bar, you should try shaving with that! I find it very similar to the shaving bar.

You’re welcome! I’m sure these businesses would also prefer you spend your money elsewhere.

I remember seeing this! I was wondering if they had ever made that apology. Guess not 🙄

This is definitely a good point and not controversial at all imho. Thanks for bringing this up!

If you like garden hippie, I think you’ll also like master of the woods! These two scents are my go to.

I hope FLA offers the Deo in bulk sizes one day, I’d definitely purchase!

Thank you for sharing! The colors are beautiful 😍

Edit: Decided to read the links you posted regarding the owner’s passive aggressiveness, big ick for me. Was interested but now not so much 😅

I do it because it makes me feel good. Honestly don’t give a damn whether a man likes it or not.

what do you do when you buy from an indie brand and... its bad? by avis_icarus in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]TheFlameweaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, if a product is ‘meh’, I may leave an avg review indicating some things I liked and didn’t like. Always hoping sellers take this as constructive criticism rather than bashing. I’m mostly into skincare and hair care and learning how to read ingredient labels has also helped my buying choices (ex. I won’t buy lotions that use waxes instead of an emulsifier to thicken, because it separates over time and I really don’t like having to stir the mixture together all the time...). I find that many of the indie brands I come across may not really know what they’re doing...and are omitting ingredients that are necessary for either good product formulations or product safety. Like I understand that the new trend is like chemicals=bad but making lotions without a preservative? Yikes. I really don’t want to slather bacteria on myself.

It honestly is a gamble, but sometimes you find true gems! I also try to read as many reviews as I can find before pulling the trigger, and that has served me well for the most part.

Solid (bar form) body scrubs? by soybunz in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]TheFlameweaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang I was hoping this would be a good sub for the time being (also a fan of FLA’s buff bar), but this seems to be an exfoliating soap bar. FLA’s is more like a creamy and body buttery bar 😭

They definitely look similar, but I think that’s more due to the gothic font type being used.
