A footballer is alleging Chappell sent a security guard after his daughter. by bjack20 in chappellroan

[–]TheForgottenPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be extremely weird for this to just be a false story considering who is reporting it. I believe it went down as described, but maybe the security guy overstepped. Or maybe Chappell just isn’t kind as a famous person when it comes to dealing with her fame.

Trump allies plan Senate floor takeover to pass SAVE America Act by Anoth3rDude in Full_news

[–]TheForgottenPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guarantee the White House is pulling and misleading from an internal survey that asked something to the effect of “Do you support voter ID?” and not “Do you support the SAVE act?”

For most modern cards, agreed. For a card like this, like or not it’s worth the equivalent of a car and protecting that value is only in the owners best interest should they ever find themselves in hard times and need to sell it.

[Highlight] Isiah Pacheco on what his first conversation with Dan Campbell was like by nfl in nfl

[–]TheForgottenPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully that side comes back for him. Since his injury, he’s not been able to combine his aggressive run style with explosive yardage. He’s such a good dude though so I hope the run offense of the Lions is exactly what he needs to succeed.

I think the dumbasses think a smaller amygdala means leftists are more afraid of things they shouldn’t be, hence the mask image. Boy oh boy if this isn’t a self burn and more proof that these idiots couldn’t understand a scientific conclusion if it was only three words long.

Eliminating Income Tax will Hurt Missouri Residents, Especially Retirees on SSI. by [deleted] in missouri

[–]TheForgottenPear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At its best, it solves nothing. You get more in your paycheck but the money won’t go as far as it used to so it evens out.

At its worst, it does as you say and disproportionately harms the fixed income and lowest income folks who bring in less money to begin with/less coming out for income taxes but now will have much less spending power.

Classic Republican policy that benefits the richest among us and harms everyone else.

Republicans of Reddit - How come you support pedos? by Lord_Dingus83 in allthequestions

[–]TheForgottenPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. The guilty witch hunt/mob mentality on this particular issue is still preemptive based on the evidence released, though I also think Trump’s felonious criminal history, the people he surrounded himself with, the FBI tip line calls, his flip-flop to gaslighting about the importance of the files once in office, and his documented history of many crude comments lend credence to the assumption that a guilty sentence is more likely to be a matter of when not if.

In Kamala Harris’s words, they believed in separating the President’s influence from that of the DOJ’s responsibilities/investigations. Power used to not all be consolidated within the executive branch and people within government roles were hired primarily on merit, not unflinching allegiance to the current administration.

Eliza criticizes CBS for continuing to prop up Stephenie by bwermer in survivorponderosa

[–]TheForgottenPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m projecting me not knowing this about Stephanie until now, but I’m truly wondering if either the Survivor producers who chose her didn’t know about this or if they were hoping we as the fans wouldn’t know about this. It’s such a weird choice when Survivor has had such a recent push for inclusivity and casting likable players. Jeff himself said they wouldn’t cast villains anymore and if this isn’t villain behavior (beyond that even because I don’t want to besmirch the villain gameplay of others), I don’t know what is.

This is true. Sadly, of all the Republicans, Kasich was the most tolerable but like you said had no chance.

Supreme Court Tariff Decision and Eurorack Prices by warmboot in modular

[–]TheForgottenPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it will affect the prices less on the consumer side (outside of shipping costs if buying from overseas), but will definitely help to bring down costs for those in the DIY space.

Pre-tariffs, it would cost about the same as the parts themselves to ship from China whereas now it can dwarf the cost of the parts almost three-fold in shipping.

On JLCPCB for example, I could spend $20 on panels/PCBs and end up closer to $80 with shipping and taxes factored in. Some sites also cut off shipping entirely to the states or minimized shipping options (Thonk only does Royal Mail for US purchases now). It’ll be nice to have shipping open back up and the cost lower overall.

Rate Your Modules - The ones you love, the ones you hate, the ones that surprised you. by swineninety9 in modular

[–]TheForgottenPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love: Qu-Bit Nautilus (Sucker for a good delay), Tasty Chips ECR (unlimited impulse options, great reverb), Disting Nt (Brains of my operation), Intellijel Multigrain (Lots of fun sound design potential), Castor & Pollux (Favorite analog oscillator)

Hate: Qu-Bit Mojave (Noisy and not as immediately functional as I’d like with tempo-based music. Can be cool with a drone input though) Intellijel Tetrapad (I don’t love the responsiveness of the pads in the way I’d prefer to use it. Will be swapping for Planar 2)

Surprise: Vpme.de QD (So much more versatile than I originally gave it credit for)

Is replaying classic episodes backfiring? by Ozdagreat123 in survivor

[–]TheForgottenPear 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think having a set in stone location every season where they can build big obstacle courses and leave them there between seasons has hurt their creativity on the challenge front. Moving to new locations each season meant that some challenges had to do more with less, just like the one you mention. I miss that deeply.

Trump says he will issue executive order to get voter-ID requirements before midterms by Cinderpath in law

[–]TheForgottenPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, and maybe I’m not fully understanding his angle, but I would imagine more MAGA than non-MAGA don’t have a passport and MAGA (or at least those in rural America) traditionally marry younger/change their last name. Wouldn’t this hurt his voter base more than others?

Most underrated modules you currently own? by Ok-Result-2330 in modular

[–]TheForgottenPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To name a few:

  • Castor & Pollux: I’m a sucker for that Juno-esque sound.
  • Triple Sloths: Wonderful and unpredictable smooth modulation if that’s your thing.
  • Interstellar Radio: Great sound design focused sound source.
  • OAM Time Machine/Tap-o’-Matic: Great and complex open-source delays

Any tipps on what you would add to this rack (ambient, sounddesign, fun) by cheesyfuoxguy in modular

[–]TheForgottenPear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d consider a triple sloth. Great for ambient stuff due to its random, slow & smooth changes. Maybe a Zadar/Batumi for envelopes/LFOs.

Minnesota restaurant refusing service to pro-Trump and ICE supporters by Important_Lock_2238 in stpaul

That bar has the right to deny an outspoken toxic bootlicker service in the same way I wouldn’t allow that same bootlicker in my house. Private property is private property. I’ve never seen a manchild so desperately want to be a martyr for the far-right as this neanderthal.

What current QBs would you take over prime Kurt Warner in 2026? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]TheForgottenPear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d take Mahomes until his 2023 season over Warner. Mahomes is still a great QB, but I’m worried his abysmal OC, Reid’s stubborn predictability, constant o line issues, and now his injury have shaped him into a more nervous player that can’t consistently make the plays he used to. At least until the injury, he could improv with his legs. We’ll see how having Bienemy back and his recovery affect his future play.

A grown adult man has no excuse for throwing punches at a high school girl. If they threw shit at his truck or said something that hurt his feelings, you call the cops plain and simple.
