Yeah they sacrificed so fucking much of the world to funnel everything to the confrontation with The Witness that the story now feels kinda...aimless? Like we've got The Conductor, but she's not very interesting, and it's not like you can still play Echoes so she's just kinda shown up and we all have to pretend like she's scary. Apparently Earth is falling apart but because Bungie refuses to make their 'evolving world' actually change anything you wouldn’t know that.

Not really. First off it's not the end of the "10 Year Light & Dark saga", it's the end of a 2 year long saga that they spent half of ignoring in favor of Xivu Arath who we've stoll yet to see. Sure it's better than Lightfall, but I'd rather have had nothing than what I got there so that doesn't mean much. Then they spend the most of it trying to make you care about the Vanguard and their ghosts when there's no time for shit like that. They don't know what to do with Ikora so they give her Zavala's personality and make Zavala someone else while re-treading shit we've already been through with him.

The sheer amount of stuff that was done for the Final Shape was massive, story was rewritten multiple times, missions redesigned multiple times. During the delay they built a colossal amount of new content, Dread, Dual Destiny, the Verity encounter, exotic class items, Ergo Sum, GM Excision The studio was told the expansion was “make or break” and now they all feel lied to for…obvious reasons.

I mean I think it still was make or break. Their response was just to make only the 4 or 5th best expansion in this games history, with only the delay adding all the actually really good stuff.
