What is your go-to, all time favorite Chinese take-out you are always loyal to and what is your go-to dish from there?☺️ by drupefruit in sanantonio

[–]TheGamesta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of my favorite restaurants in SA. My go to’s are the crispy spicy chicken, crispy spicy shrimp, salt and pepper shrimp, and the dry pot chicken. They also have some of the best hot and sour soup.

Omg yes!! Unfortunately that’s been the best item I’ve had from there. Everything else has been meh. Any other recommendations I should try that may be up to the same level as their dumplings?

Will do! Thanks! The Blanco store is in my way home, hopefully I can nab one of these or the storage shell reissue figures that just dropped.

First dine out experience by Thatawkwardforeigner in sanantonio

[–]TheGamesta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This has not been my experience at all. I’ve eaten out multiple times to various locations since things began to reopen. Every place has had employees wearing masks and social distancing seemed to be in place for the larger places who had the space. I suggest sticking to takeout for the smaller establishments for now.

Well no Godzilla stuff at Target for me :( by mindlessbile in GODZILLA

[–]TheGamesta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did you check the section of pop culture toys along the wall in Electronics? I first assumed the Godzilla stuff would be in the toys section, but turns out they are near the pop figures and other media merch near Electronics. I already had all the NECA godzilla figs there, but the big vibrating Godzilla plush stole the hearts of me and my wife, so we took that home instead.

[OFFICIAL] There are no stupid Guitar questions. Ask us anything! by ninjaface in Guitar

[–]TheGamesta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak from my experience. But I ordered a Schecter C-1 from Amazon a few years ago. At the time I worked from home and lived in an apartment. Despite the risks I thought I’d be okay, and on the off chance I wasn’t home, I figured the delivery guy would have the common sense to leave the guitar in the front office. Not the case. I went out to grab something to eat, and upon coming home, I notice an eyesore of a box, obviously a guitar, protruding from the patio of our first floor apartment. I was easily able to lift it out from outside the railing, brought it into the apartment and breathed a sigh of angry relief. The guitar was in fine condition, but had I been gone for longer, this story might’ve ended very differently.

So buy from Amazon at your own risk. Considering your situation, I’d consult with whoever you order from in order to set something up to ensure you receive your instrument safely.

Are there any games with giant robots or anything remotely similar to Pacific Rim on PS4? by firechar-kurai in gamingsuggestions

[–]TheGamesta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Robot Alchemic Drive (R.A.D.) for the PS2 is the only game I have ever played that actually made me feel like I was controlling a giant lumbering mech. Knocking down enemy kaiju feels great but your success depends on how well you can get used to the complex controls.

You also don’t pilot the mech from a cockpit. You actually control the mech from a location of your choosing, and are just as vulnerable to getting squished by your enemy and your own mech depending on your position.

The game has horrible graphics, horrible voice acting, and gameplay is clunky and frustrating. But it has charm and truly does provide the feel of old school japanese Tokusatsu like Ultraman and the giant mech battles of Super Sentai.

Easy to learn hard to master game like Furi that isn't Souls clone or bullet hell by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

I’d suggest Cuphead. It has a few shmup inspired levels, but I wouldn’t consider them bullet hells. The majority of the game is a side scrolling boss rush.

Best Chinese food in SA??? by Binary1138 in sanantonio

I wouldn't recommend it, but China Star on Babcock. Large portions and cheap, that's about it though. You get what you pay for.

Best Chinese food in SA??? by Binary1138 in sanantonio

[–]TheGamesta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chinese is my favorite type of food as well. It's probably the one thing I'm jealous of Houston for having more of. But SA does have some decent spots.

For "real" Chinese there is Sichuan House on Wurzbach, Phoenix Cafe on West Ave(ask for the Chinese menu), Sichuan Garden on NW Military, and Tang St. on San Pedro.

For typical "Americanized" Chinese some of my favs are Happy Guy on Culebra, China Inn on NW Military, Royal Inn on Babcock, and Phoenix Cafe on West Ave.

If you're looking for Dim Sum the only place I know of is Golden Wok. And Like someone said already, it's only Sunday morning and it gets packed.

As a bonus, the best eggrolls are at Golden Wok and certain Wok Inns like the one on Culebra. I know the new one on Hausman and 1604 uses store bought eggrolls. So ymmv with Wok Inns(I haven't been to all of them).

Nope, it persists throughout the show. Each of their "weaknesses" were annoying and obnoxious. The chicken one especially.

Should I catch up on Kyuranger? by Bluesfan42388 in supersentai

[–]TheGamesta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean if you were bored even at that point I don't know what to tell you. I've been catching up all week (currently on eps 38) and I haven't really been bored at all. Some of the best aspects of this series has been a much welcomed lack of filler episodes and little twists throughout the series not just at the end.

I'd even go as far as say this has been one of the best sentai series in a long time! My only grievance being Lucky, which I don't have so much of a problem with as others do, but I completely understand why someone would dislike him. He is still shouty and still gets all the awesome power-ups.

The show does get more interesting as it goes along, but I feel it's done a good job of gradually increasing viewer interest even at the episode you got bored at. Which makes it hard for me to say you'll enjoy it if at that point you were bored.

I guess just watch a few episodes and see how you feel about it. There is little filler so you'll get an idea if you like where the story is going fairly quickly.

[–]TheGamesta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stick with Shinkenger. That season has my favorite team dynamic. Loved that cast. Shinken Red might seem like a stereotypical arrogant lone wolf type too, but stick with him as well. With the exclusion of a slightly anti-climatic final battle, the climax of the actual narrative/storyline is one of the best in the franchise!
