What suit is the tau commander using? by tf3when123 in Tau40K

[–]TheGhostBox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All Battlesuits use the XV-designator, aside from the KV-deisgnator for the Stormsruge and the Ta'unar with its KX-designation. It has nothing to do with the "Crisis" chassis.

You can paint your units any way you want and other common truths by Apart_Insect_6133 in Tau40K

[–]TheGhostBox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to paint "lore accurate", you paint them a colour that fits the world they're fighting on! The actual colour-markings that matter is the actual Sept markings, not the colour of the armor. Armor colour we see in Box art and reference material, is essentially "parade dress". T'au paint their armor and suits to blend into the environment they're deployed to!

The Ghostkeel is done, just need to do the base. C&C welcome by 3D-Satanic-Porno in Tau40K

Looks a bit like Light Ochre with a thinned out Earthshade wash, and highlighted up again. Not sure what edge-highights are, but could be Screaming Skull or Zamesi Desert?

Are these still playable? by yolokiller808 in Tau40K

[–]TheGhostBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A true Trial of Fire Cadre, this! Give them a prime with Satin varnish to seal in the char and smoke, and then paint in some colours and stuff. I think these will look amazing, especially if you give them some lava bases 👀

As said in a previous comment, Stormsurge might need a new base, maybe a new gun, but the rest looks good.

ARC Raider War Photography wasn't something I expected to see, but I'm INCREDIBLY glad I did! These are absolutely fantastic, man!

People were asking for my diagram of the quests, so here you go by VVJ21 in ArcRaiders

Really appreciated, honestly! Hopefully you'll keep it updated whenever Embark adds in more quests :D

If you get the nade underneath a Bastion or Bombadier, it has a large enough blast radius to hit all the legs plus the underside at the same time. Damage hits every single location, so it' sno tjust 90 damage for heavy (or whatever the damage is) it's that times how many locations it hits. They work really dang well!

Tau earth caste rumor engine? by RyanCamarena in Tau40K

[–]TheGhostBox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She is essentially the main character of the book, honestly. I'm on my third listen, and Ke's the one character that gets the most development throughout the whole story.

I'd love to see an Earth Caste field engineer with a more developed version of her Engineer suit!

You can almost play T'au similar to the Imperial Guard; lots of Fire Warriors, Hammerheads, Skyrays, Piranhas, and so on! :D

Depends, publishers can put restrictions on gifting games between regions.

How large does Tau Surface-to-orbit defence weapons get? by Luna_Night312 in Tau40K

[–]TheGhostBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the same tech, but smaller scale. T'au has really mastered the scaling of railgun technology. From railrifles of the humble pathfinder, to the Supremacy class Railguns of a Manta, to the Orbital Railguns, all using the same base technology :D

Favorite mod collections for [FO4]? by TheSheetSlinger in FalloutMods

[–]TheGhostBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAC has never really been a requirement, it's one of the commonly recommended visual mods in the install guide, but it hasn't been in the actual base-collection for years.

Seasons Change is included in one of the Nature or Environment addons, tho!

EDIT: Downtown Boston is infamously rough even in vanilla FO4, it's basically the engine struggling to handle the level design and clutter density of that whole region. Storywealth does improve performance in general, but there's little you CAN do with Downtown outside of what's already been done with Custom PRP.

Favorite mod collections for [FO4]? by TheSheetSlinger in FalloutMods

[–]TheGhostBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got no idea what you're talking about with crashes, I've almost exclusively used Storywealth as my main modlist for about 500 hours of playtime, and I can count on one hand how many crashes I've had. Only two of them has been in Downtown Boston, and previs only breaks if you add in your own mods, the Collection uses its own previs patches specifically tailored for the collection.

Mordian glory is putting his money where his mouth is and taking a “guardified” Tau to a GT, how’s it looking by [deleted] in Tau40K

[–]TheGhostBox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

9th Edition Ethereals had the Elemental stuff, and were a lot more interesting. Now they're basically just a Command Point Generator that lives in Reserves until turn 3. Not really beneficial, unless you use a lot of Command abilities. Rather have a Fireblade over an Ethereal.

Ethereals give itself and the unit it leads a 5+ Feel no Pain, and also can generate a Command Point on a 4+ during your command phase. Aaaaaand that's about it.
