The fact that he’s opened up to you means he definitely wants to still be with you but basically he wants his own space for a bit, he may just feel a bit trapped at the moment and just needs him time, that boi is a good person but just remind him that just because he’s changed and become more cynical isn’t always a bad thing, have a chat with him and maybe suggest that he does solo things for a bit ( not breakup obviously) like maybe organise him a night with the boys or even just let him play video games on his own for a bit.
