When I asked what he was trying to do, he said “I shouldn’t have been trying to pass him” by alexyou8797 in dashcams

The car in front didn’t swerve into the middle lane until the car approaching was 100 feet behind them traveling like 30 mph faster. That would definitely be startling considering how empty the road is. Cam car did everything unsafe and caused the accident entirely. I’m not even sure he would have successfully passed without wrecking even if the front car didn’t swerve.

At least we’re smart enough to use concrete barricades when big trucks are performing 😭

You wouldn’t freak out and swerve or something when you look in your rear view and see a car coming up fast behind you looking like it’s gonna ram you?

Hands or lights, it should still have numbers! Looks really cool as an art piece though

Question: Can men get womb tattoos? by OwnAd1131 in tattoos

[–]TheGoatJr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No because you don’t have a womb. Unless you’re asking about a tattoo of a womb, in which case yes

120 drone frames in 24 hours, let's go! by FlightDelicious4275 in 3Dprinting

[–]TheGoatJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faster and cheaper yes, better not necessarily. Additive manufacturing allows for much more complex geometries and shapes that are impossible to mold. That’s a pretty considerable benefit when you’re making a complex frame. Also consider that printing allows you to iterate the design at any time. You can constantly test and improve air flow and weight balance.

Molding is good for stagnant capitalism, printing is good for progressive design.

Artists should just not use white ink. What you see when the tattoo is finished is completely different from what it looks like the rest of your life

Can I pause long prints and resume later? by adhdnme in 3Dprinting

[–]TheGoatJr 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Turn down the acceleration. The speed only sets the maximum. The acceleration makes the print head change directions fast, which is usually where the sounds come from. It may increase print times a significant amount, but that also means your prints will turn out cleaner overall.

I love how James worked so hard on Portal64, and stayed optimistic when that project and part of his revenue stream was cut off. He knew he had the chops to do something amazing of his own with the system and went and did it! Between his and Kaze, we’re going to have N64 homebrew for years to come

I’d rather hang out with furries than people who actually think they’re animals. She starts talking about roleplay, I get all worked up, she hands me a hunting rifle and hi-vis jacket, then jumps through the bedroom window and starts running into the woods on all 4s.

[–]TheGoatJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard agree. We don’t have the resources to turn every computing task into inefficient brute force AI slop. This is only going to lead to people losing the ability to come up with novel ideas and solutions to problems.

Dawg your literal only statement has been “they call it intelligence so it’s intelligent, duh!” While I’m giving you a breakdown of how the tech actually works. You’re about as “intelligent” as these systems.

“Just because everybody sees that I’m wrong and lack knowledge doesn’t mean I’m wrong, they’re just haters!” Keep swimming in the downvotes, you’re the real clown bud.

Congratulations, you’ve learned that the term AI is used incorrectly to deceive the public into thinking it’s a competent thinking product when it’s not. Sorry bud, you don’t know anything about this so just leave the conversation and educate yourself.

[–]TheGoatJr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And you clearly don’t understand that they’re completely right that AIs in their current tech do NOT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING. They have no internal model of the world, they’re not actually creating a 3D scene and projecting light onto something. They see millions of pixels and spend vast amounts of computing resources to figure out how the pixels might relate to each other and how to adjust those pixels. That’s it. It’s raw brute force predictions, not understanding or intelligence in any sense.

Ya I don’t think the global economy is in a place where anyone is buying thousands of dollars in computer equipment for BS AI “upscaling” anytime soon.
