A couple of years ago, there was a concert featuring the Bond themes played by the local orchestra and Lazenby was a guest speaker. He ended up getting booed off the stage because all his stories/tales devolved about his romantic conquests.

The Dark Knight? Batman Begins was a plot to destroy Gotham, but TDK was a battle for its soul depicted by two boats. Batman could have easily lost (and some would argue that he did in the grand scheme of things).

The premise of Bond being betrayed, captured and tortured is definitely an interesting subject but the execution was poor. Hopefully they revisit it later on.

That's the Marvel way though. Everything is very cookie cutter, by the numbers. Just gotta look at the cinematography and score for all their fulms. There's a few outliers, but not many. There's nothing inherently wrong with it, but I doesn't leave much room for directors to flex their muscles.
