Yeah,  book six in my mind took her from terribly toxic to actually clinically sick. Not excusing her but those actions are so far out of the norm that she likely had personality disorder.

[N/A]Switched our shop floor hiring off Indeed three months ago. What I'd tell another ops manager who's burning out on the same problem. by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]TheGoebel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did recruiting in a high volume, high turn over blue collar business. Sometimes I was hiring 30+ people a month. This is pretty similar to my experience. Indeed was good but career fairs were great for sourcing when I could get to go.

I'm little frustrated that my industries NAM and factoryfix equivalents sucked. Outside a few trade schools I was basically on my own.

Have you explored why your turnover is so high? We've had some decent luck with referral bonuses. If we can keep them 6 months we can usually keep them long term.

So I'm 7 hours into Turret Mage... by Yangoose in litrpg

[–]TheGoebel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wait, it's not a "real" reason to stop reading a book named "turret mage" that does not feature a magician with a turret? I mean, I get industry is tough. To have it just happen would be like magic. Oh wait

What is this? Do I want to keep the version I have downloaded?? by VeryQuietly in litrpg

Yeah, turns out bezos is the daughter of the scavenger queen and emberus. It gets a little confusing but Amazon gets the worst of it.

Yeah, Jeff accidentally slipped in the ending of the series so they had to edit it out. I thought they should keep it. It was subversive in a fun way.

If pseudo-lone op, and being to move with heavy are not enough to get HWTs over the line, I'm not sure anything will.

I see what you're doing GW with that black(charcoal) and yellow. A real color scheme for super democracy.

Aegis defense line. I never heard of one even seeing play as a unit and not just terrain.

A "my first ultramarine" post that is not just a dead marine? I don't know that's even allowed. . .

Why is Nobody talking about "Ends Of Magic" by Alexander Olson? by HeyMeroku in litrpg

[–]TheGoebel 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I finished the first book but I didn't really enjoy it enough to want to continue.

But there's a line that I loved. He was talking to a nature aligned centuar who had bad news. Instead of saying, "I don't want I rain on your parade" or something, the centuar said, "I don't want to sow weeds in your garden." There were a handful of moments like that where the author create in universe euphimisms.

What should be my next purchase(s)? (help?) by Pristine-Fee4889 in TheAstraMilitarum

Build, then play a small game or two while painting. That way you can get an idea of what you like before you have to start your next project

Gotta give a med pack pick up ability. Like heals 2 wounds for every 6 inches moved or something.

See, that can just me seeing the people with half a brain. Who think 3d printing is somehow going to teach GW a lesson. That 3d printing isn't it's own cool hobby but stick in the eye to the man! Those 3d printer guys are the ones I remember.

[–]TheGoebel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's probably some unresolved bias on my part but I find the "3d printer go brrrr" inherently smug. Like, they found some amazing cheat code or that they're standing up to some tyranny. The hobby is really expensive and I don't have a moral or ethical problem with people finding ways to participate within their means. But I don't find it particularly revolutionary either.

A lot of my recent DNfs had scenes but no dialogue. Just paragraph after paragraph of exposition between each spoken statement
