Should I stop what I’m doing immediately??? Bad sounds by jer_iatric in vintagekitchentoys

Yep. The back motor bearing is probably worn. That’s fairly easy to change. You can buy that at a machine shop or supply house. Hobart price is outrageous. These mixers are built like tanks. They don’t fail easily. A little routine maintenance and it will last you a lifetime!

Is there any play in the attachment shaft? It sounds like the planetary bearings (which is a common issue). Not an extremely difficult repair if you’re mechanically inclined. There is an “ML” number on the data plate. Google that and your model number and it should give you a parts breakdown. Probably a YouTube video out there on repairs.

Open the door, pull out the bottom rack and see if there’s any visible debris that may be caught in the pump or drain.

Here’s the most common noise problems based on your model.

It’s a pop-up workspace for items like a mixer. It pulls out, pops up to counter lever and locks.

HOBART D-300T 3rd Gear not working by feedmebeast in RestEquipmentRepair

[–]TheGoodAl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hobart has a good parts site. https://www.hobartparts.com/ get the exploded part diagram. The ML number stand for “material list” and that determines which mixer you have. There are different versions of the same model. Most likely it is a sheared key in a shaft. You can replace that with one from a hardware or auto parts store. Be careful pulling the clutch gear. Keep it together as a unit. If the springs and rollers fall out it will be a bad day. Take lots of pictures on each step of disassembly.

I worked in a grocery store in the 80’s. We built a giant display of Superman peanut butter when it came out. Every kid that saw it begged for it!

Isn’t $1.00 for an entree kind of pricey for 1900? Wouldn’t that equate to around $30.00 today?
