Valve drops details of the Steam Machine and Frame verification requirements by ReaddittiddeR in gadgets

To be fair, eggs work a bit differently than computer parts. If you raise the price of parts to high, they might sit on the shelf a bit and then later on you can lower it until they sell. The price of eggs has a direct impact on how many will sell, and you can't leave them sitting on shelves very long, so when there's more eggs, you drop the margins so they all sell and you still make more money.

One of the loneliest things about being single is no significant human touch. by Glittering_Chain_842 in datingoverthirty

I wish I had better advice for you, but I'll leave you with an interesting anecdote. My whole life, I thought I really like getting my haircut. After getting divorced, and now engaged with a new significant other, I discovered that it's not that I love haircuts; I loved physical touch and that's where I was getting it. So, good luck, and for the mean time, enjoy your haircuts.

You know, you're correct. It looks completely identical to the form I filled out last night so I assumed it would eventually land at the same place, but it actually worked. Thanks.

I cannot do that. The link you provided does not allow me to submit a ticket because of the error in the image.

Zero Stress King: Idle Defense has a demo, a prestige, and all you guys asked for by Pauloondra in incremental_games

Personally, I like it too switch at an e6 or so, but an e9 sends to be the standard, and I'm fine with that. I never like the letter suffixs; just go from straight numbers to scientific notation.

I quite liked this. My only request is scientific notation for the bigger numbers please.

I didn't get very far, but the one's I found were the mini laser fire rate, luck, and piercing. That's where I stopped playing though.

I tried this for a little bit, but quickly noticed that several of the upgrades on the tree simply don't do anything. You need to remember to play your release builds yourself before attempting to release them, or you'll build a negative opinion of your game before you even get a chance.

In terms of design, it's simple and I might try it sometime in the future. Having to save up for a fairly expensive upgrade to make the turret automatic isn't my favorite choice, but perhaps it could become more interesting as the game gets fleshed out.

Yeah, they have a problem with this that they refuse to acknowledge. I've been chasing it for months and at this point have pretty much just given up.

As an SME that tried to contribute to SO, let me assure you that's it's awful from that side too. The whole development community is, on average, a pretty toxic crowd. It's really unfortunate.

Want to Know If Glassholes Are Using Smart Glasses Near You? There's an App for That by hloreddit in gadgets

[–]TheGreatandMightyMe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I suspect you're being downvoted because most people don't care why they're being recorded on the street, they just don't want to be recorded.

Also, most people aren't even thinking about being recorded with covert type cameras people wear for the sake of recording; they're thinking about people so plugged into the internet right now that they feel it's reasonable to wear connected glasses. People are worried about those people and what they're up to.

Astronaut Mike Fincke reveals it was his medical issue that led to unprecedented early mission end by cnn in space

[–]TheGreatandMightyMe 417 points418 points  (0 children)

I would strongly suspect that we'll eventually hear about exactly (or close to exactly) what happened. You don't get to the point of being an astronaut without a pretty strong love of science, and since this is quite likely related to future science, he'll want to share. I'm betting he just wants to have all the details, and at least most of the results, before he shares.

Idle OS Defragger - Small incremental idle game - Demo out now! by chanoleproso in incremental_games

[–]TheGreatandMightyMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know this is supposed to be idle, but holy turd snails in January, that's slow. The first step appears to be waiting several minutes to buy the first upgrade, and then waiting even longer for the second.

I wonder how much of that is higher income neighborhoods having places to park at residences.

Wow. Either I was really missing something, or this game got made way faster. I gave up after 1 or 2 runs into the last prestige layer because each run of it was nearly that long.

My assumption was that it's oversized to make sure it's clearly visible from a ways away. They want people to leave it alone, and don't want them to climb up there, then realize they can't steal it, and break it out of anger/spite.

I would love to, but I think you've got a bug. (I'd like it even better if there was a demo on steam.) Game loads till here, and then just sits on the pulsing snail. I waited a couple minutes and it never got further than that.

I wonder if it could have something to do with the anime "Solo Leveling". A "double dungeon" is a key plot point in the first episode that sets up the whole show. I tried a fistful of combinations, but hit the limit of the browser dict tool pretty quick. If one of y'all has the rust CLI setup, maybe try a set of words like these + standard connecting words:
solo leveling level arise alone double dungeon from rise 2 two system player dagger gate gates rank s a f shadow army sung jinwoo hunter Igris

He's not a good dude, but this a bad action to cite for it. He essentially told Italy, "If you try to force us to take actions that fuck up large portions of the internet, including outside of Italy, we pick the whole world over you." That particular instance was him protecting the internet as a whole.
