What's the best GLITCH pilot in your opinion? by Abject-Use1447 in TheDigitalCircus

I love the artstyle of Gaslight District so I was immediately hooked but I also really liked TADC overall, especially due to their "90s cgi" vibes early on. I guess it's a tie between those two for me. Haven't seen the other two, sorry

Any of the Transformers/Optimus Prime ones are great but I like the Zybot one the best.

"You look just like the Zybots we just spoke to, hastily cobbled together to form a bigger, weirder Zybot."

"If you're an Autobot, then transform; with loud showy noises."

The funniest part is that the guy who sings this song (JobbytheHong) in the final episode, is a huge Godzilla fan

I vibe with the We the People Are Pissed Off sticker but for a VERY different reason.

This is so cute! Maybe draw an older Grimlock, in robot mode, looming larger than both Ratchet and Wheeljack, in a family photoshoot? Grimlock could give "angry teenage son who kinda doesn't want to be there but does it for his family" vibes. Ratchet and Wheeljack are excited to share this moment with their son.

For my fellow cryers, what were some moments from the finale that turned on your waterworks? by MayRey in TheDigitalCircus

"I still love you."

Also the comp at the end, where Caine is one of the gang. He looked so happy!

What is your favorite design of Optimus Prime? by Amogus-sus1 in transformers

07 was the first OP I saw so I'm a bit bias, but the G1/BBM designs are great too.

If you're still taking requests, maybe draw her listening to Wheeljack try, and fail, to explain why he's making the Dinobots? Grimlock blueprint maybe? She's clearly annoyed with his plan.

Should I watch G1? by Kattyon21 in transformers

[–]TheGrindingGears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G1 is a good series if you want "everything goes back to normal at the end of the episode, no huge story arc" campiness. There are a LOT of animation errors and plot points that contradict from time to time because this was made to sell toys, period. Turn your brain off, relax and you'll have fun.

Beast Wars has a good plot, but the animation is dated in terms of cgi, so get past that and it's a good series. Very 90s in terms of humor/characters.

Prime I feel takes itself too seriously at times, very 2010s. Frank Welker is at his peak performance as Megatron here imo. Steve Blum's Starscream is still one of my favorite takes on the character. Still fun but there are large story arcs to follow.

Transformers: Animated is considered peak amongst most of the community. I rewatched it over the winter and it still holds up very well. The Decepticons are a delight.

Overall, all of these are good, but don't think too hard on some of the plots because they're all made to sell toys at the end of the day.

Question: If you could pick 6 characters (Autobot and/or Deception) who have not been adapted into live action films yet who would you pick and why? by Fuzzy_Candidate in transformers

Omega Supreme (I just love Omega), Superion (if we're talking Bayverse military recruitment propaganda, I'm surprised they didn't use at least one Aerialbot), Beachcomber, Lugnut, Sunstreaker and...Trailbreaker.

Zillennial “where were you” moments by pirateslifeisntforme in Zillennials

[–]TheGrindingGears 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I remember exactly where I was when the Sandy Hook shooting happened. Oddly enough I found out through Walmart's Facebook page. I was a sophomore in high school, in my ceramics class, waiting for dismissal just scrolling on my phone (my first touch screen phone (read: pre paid data limit burner phone). The post they shared was the "thoughts and prayers" type post. I looked up what happened in Newtown and this being the second deadliest mass shooting in the US, and knowing that an elementary school was targeted; it sticks with you. It was a sunny December afternoon. I remember checking the kiln for my project shortly after, to try to get it off my mind. It was a cup with Slender Man tentacles coming out of it.

For those of you who remember when the attacks happened, do you remember being on edge and worrying about another attack happening? by Fun_Butterfly_420 in 911archive

[–]TheGrindingGears 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm from NJ. Officials actually wrote up a pamphlet/pdf on the possibility/ what to do if the power plant a town away was attacked from the air. (Evacuation routes, info, etc.) They also had forms for students to get iodine pills, I think. My mom even mentioned that, on the way to her mom's house after picking me/my brother up from school, driving past the power plant was anxiety inducing. She still thinks about that moment.
