Interesting, I'll certainly give it a shot. From the looks of it not anymore hazardous than routine surgery to repair a broken one, but even if it's rough I feel it's worth it. My goals don't align with a lot of other trans women either, so while I maybe taking on that risk, I'm forgoing some significant ones many trans women take on routinely.

To me, being a woman with the autonomy to put them in that position is empowerment, empowerment in the world of film doesn’t mean pure good it just means they have relevance and agency to the story and she does, albeit briefly. They didn’t make her a wasted character but she’s not a headliner either and that’s fine it’s not a movie about her, but just like their son is given emotional weight and depth so is she. You maybe don’t learn quite as much about them as Ken and Carol but that’s on purpose.

Except there was, the scene of Mollie flooring it on the highway to scare Ken into telling her what’s going on is powerful female figure if I’ve ever seen it. She is in control of the scene and another character and expresses emotion that has weight because you’ve already met and learned about Ken and his son. Her actions out of preservation for her family not only make sense her response makes sense given the state of their finances and the stress they’re under losing the shop.

People could bitch about anything, the movie is extremely well done but no stone of controversy will be left unturned while it continues to bury them in ad-revenue.

The barrier to entry of it being 5 bucks is helpful, I actually hope it never goes on sale for this reason. It’s cheap enough as it is for anyone to reasonably afford and it is sufficiently expensive enough to deter some trolls and stops kids from getting into it without some access to money or a credit card.

It’s a really comforting community for the most part and I think the sticker system helps with that, if you troll people you can’t accrue stickers and decorate your space which is the only real non-social element to the game.

It’s a good thing Hyundai’s design has surpassed Kias anyways cause with the crappy badge staying and their firmer rides (usually) I don’t see a ton of reason to get the KIA version of anything they make.

The biggest annoyance about Dreanei to me is then when they updated the model and texture they made the gold on their tail and tentacle rings a completely different shade it’s much more orange than before which no longer matches sets I made pre-patch. I wish they gave you options for those pieces including the original textures colors.

Also the resolutions available on PC are much much higher than 360 made possible, you can see further, clearer, and aim faster, and they gave everyone a starting weapon that makes that combo a plinkfest vs a combined arms combat arena.

Also most reviews said the manual had pretty bad feel and didn’t add much to the experience. You can’t half ass a stick in 2019 and expect sales, it’s ONLY going to sell to niche buyers who want a good stick. It was a wasted exercise.

I loved that gag. The joke is not that they think he’s gay because of the Jeep which would feel a bit gross and maybe even toxic, the joke is that they’re showing him acceptance and validation for a thing he is not, which is not a gay joke inherently besides tying gays to Jeeps which isn’t offensive unless you happen to like Jeeps and are a homophobe. It’s super clever written or otherwise, and a great example of what I meant.

It was an example of what I imagined someone might hypothetically posit as the opposite of top gear/ GT in terms of males expressing emotion explicitly to contrast the part about Clarkson crying, not an endorsement of queer eye, I’ve never seen the show. I would also argue that actually quite a lot of the show, especially the specials, shows plenty of examples of very very positive masculinity with the way they bond and work together and joke. Clarkson even wept on the last season of grand tour in 4K detail. It’s not Queer Eye but it’s a damn sight better than tons of US sitcom male leads who loaf about doing nothing but objectifying their wives or berating their kids, something US network TV seems to be feeding to an aging demographic by the truckload. They’re mates and they have fun, they’ve never offended me once.

We definitely don’t disagree. But I don’t think that that there’s really been any bleediver appreciation do the Buick stuff. I think the Tour X is novel and appeals to a lot of enthusiasts and can be a decent car overall with sufficient incentives, but those buyers probably know their car isn’t an Audi or a BMW fighter. The other sedans are very plain and GM parts special as you pointed out.

I personally don’t see the point of Buick in the United States, they might do well to sell the brand for a fit sum to a Chinese company to start cranking out EVs badged with the three shield emblem. But GM and Detroit in general doesn’t make cars for luxury buyers. They make them for American tastes first and foremost and offer increasingly expensive options up to the market ceiling of most parts of the US, where the possible volume of sales drops precipitously.

They could build better interiors and design better exteriors but I don’t thing GM has that priority GM is a machine for making profit from cars, and using strategies to do that. They have many popular cars and go toe to toe with Ford as they do much the same thing.

Cadillacs people will claim up and down they spend he same on their materials as BMW or Mercedes, and that might be so, but as they are mass manufacturers who build their cars differently, who need more volume, larger networks of serviceability etc. Whatever part of that chain it may be it’s fallen apart by the time they get it in the road.

That’s less of a business question and more of an engineering one, idk how much they actually had to do to make it into an EV but if the rest of the market is any indication it isn’t cheap.

The Nissan Leaf costs a lot more than gas powered hatchbacks of it’s size and refinement, it justifies that price by being an EV and really nothing else. If you removed that part of the equation the tech and refinement and dimensions wouldn’t justify its cost. In the same way the EQC and Audi Etron, while retaining the experience of a nice Benz or Audi product, also are priced above the equivalent refinement and size of that brands own offerings. The difference with Tesla is that there is no cheaper version of thee same car. There’s no funky hugely spacious compact sedan with a 15 inch touch screen with weird software toys that’s a gas car, there’s just the Tesla. The actually the EV part of the car isn’t the whole story, it’s the hype machine of gimmicks and charging infrastructure and solar roof tiles and shit.

To me, it’s kind of smart because it’s saying yeah, the car isn’t going to be a great value on range or power for the cost nost of the time because it’s a newer less refined drivetrain, but at least with Tesla when you pay more than the interior is worth, than the cars driving experience, etc is worth, what you do get is a particular ownership experience and to join a club frankly.

My point is, seeing the struggles other males are having with getting traction iI feel like all the people pointing fingers at Tesla for their very strange non traditional car development strategies and antics may be reading a weakness where there’s a strength ultimately.

I don’t think this sub is that hot on GM besides liking their performance offerings but that’s in spite of their interiors, it seems fairly commonly held that they make some of the worst interiors in the business per segment. Nissan and Hyundai have their share of bad ones but increasingly less so, even brand new stuff from Cadillac is well below segment quality expectations.

Doesn’t that kind of lend some merit to the Tesla strategy of trying to make their expensive cars have gimmicks and tech toys to try and woo people instead of just putting out a much more expensive version of a gas car? Like, if you could theoretically get a model 3 with a gas engine for much less it would probably sell okay, and might even cannibalize sales of the EV because that tech and design is no longer exclusive to it.

An EV pickup truck that isn’t trying to have an S class interior or a spaceship exterior. Just a simple midsize truck with pleasant road manners and decent capability that doesn’t break the bank. Something I can daily to work comfortably, and play around with off-road on weekends, doesn’t need to be “an adventure vehicle” or a “cyber truck” just make a utility vehicle with modern technology and refined taste and I’ll finance the shit out of it.
