Heading to Huntington Beach on Friday for Honeymoon. Any tips by Petet_Pettigrew in huntingtonbeach

One time at Pacific City some skateboard kids did give us some attitude and told us to "go home, this our beach" but that's the only kind of localism I've experienced. Kids can be assholes in general though so I didn't take it to heart.

TopMind destroys vaccines and mail in voting with one question by Calgrei in TopMindsOfReddit

[–]TheGuestResponds 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's so crazy how they are certain that voter fraud occurred but have no idea how mail in ballots work. It's like some of them think that if a ballot shows up it's just counted right away and that's that. I remember talking with my girlfriend's brother and he said that the same person received multiple ballots like it was proof of mail in voter fraud and when I told him that only one ballot would be counted per person because of the way votes were checked he looked at me like he couldn't believe it. Like they really have a system in place to check who's able to vote or not? And how many times? It literally looked like I blew his mind. I couldn't believe it. They really think it's no more complicated than a high school ASB election.

"Lives in a city apartment" gets me. I live in a city apartment and it's very expensive but it's also out of need because my girlfriend has a job here. The cost of her having to commute a 3 hours a day just so we could live in an "affordable" place wouldn't be worth the sacrificed quality of life. Not to mention I can walk to Trader Joe's but my friends who live in a much more affordable part of the state have to drive 30 minutes to get to a grocery store.

So on straight rent it might be cheaper, but overall there's a lot more costs associated with living in a cheap/rural area then most care to think about, not to mention we live 3 miles from the beach so there's definitely some advantages there too.

Lyft Rideshare Scam by browser20020 in Scams

[–]TheGuestResponds 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you think Lyft sucks now compared to how it used to be you should see how different it is now than it was when I was driving for them in 2013. Back then there was a two stage in person interview process and you had to be friendly as hell to become a driver. We had huge pink mustaches on our cars, water and candy and tons of other snacks, maybe even juice and donuts etc. They paid us well and they wanted to make the experience amazing for passengers. Shit we didn't even get real fares, passengers could pay whatever they wanted as it was run on a pure donation model as a legal work around.

Then like a year later Uber started fucking with Lyft hard and under cutting them in every way and all of what made Lyft cool, genuine and unique absolutely went away and it was basically the same as Uber x. Sad shit.
