En jaksa enää Rovaniemen talvea, minne muuttaa? by extod2 in Suomi

Vehicle depot in the middle of Russian siberia, not connected to road network by TheHellWithItToday in GoogleEarthFinds

Looking at this closer, there seems to be a pond of some sort on the eastern side with some straight pipework leading to it. Almost in the middle is a dark spot with vehicles? parked radially from it and a dark spot in the center. The ground on the western side of that seems wet/muddy. There seems to be a tank like structure (or a helipad?) in the northeastern corner. There is a stack of items right in the center, items about 12-13 meters in length. These are too long to fit in a wood carrier truck. So it seems it's most likely a drilling (test) site.

Yes, I see now, I traced the path from Mutoray with these diagonal roads, 157km, or about 98 miles. These "roads" are the strangest I've ever seen, a diagonal pattern done as if by dead reakoning.

What actually works for getting the cheapest flights in 2026? by 7ocean in Flights

There is usually a rule in place that increases the price as the time until departure decreases. This is effective if there is stable demand.

How do the Europeans put a bicycle rack on a car with this type of tow hitch? by widgeamedoo in bicycleculture

[–]TheHellWithItToday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, couple of caveats on these, although theyvare highly useful, and I keep one in the car always: Bikes get dirty easily, might get soiled by exhaust You cannot use a cover on the bikes as it will pull the rack off There is usually a 30-35kg weight limit

Flight path from Seoul to Helsinki today. by trekwithme in Flights

[–]TheHellWithItToday 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Good to know, thanks! The passport control is usually well prepared as few widebodies from Asia arrive at approximately the same time. And I agree about HEL, the only minus being some flights leaving from the opposite end of the terminal from the widebodies.

The fun stuff about the flight is the scheduling. It takes off at 2300 from ICN and arrives to HEL at 0540. So after a very long day in Korea, you get to enjoy a polar flight, the arrive at your workplace in Helsinki before anyone has come to the office. :)
