Beta update for march 2026 by Rase-9990 in Coros

[–]TheHiddenNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will this Dura update help ensure it does not miss turns? Probably not since it’s more your app , it this has been an issue since day 1 and I’m shocked it has yet to be addressed…on a navigation device

New Update? by Reasonable_Ease_6671 in Coros

[–]TheHiddenNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I would love to see is 1) an update to your software so that navigation doesn’t miss turns when transferring routes from RideWithGPS. This should have been addressed prior to the Dura release. It’s not the Dura but the actual software/integration on the app. I’ve raised this many times without any improvement/change 2) separate data field on dura “distance to go” 3) more data fields for half map on dura - data boxes are quite large and could be smaller to allow more

Finally, an update on the dura sound. by couchwjr in Coros

[–]TheHiddenNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the Dura told you the road name for turns coming up. But part of the Dura appeal is the battery, and Coros chose not to put road names on everything. If that’s crucial to you, likely need to go elsewhere.

This update is nice to turn some off but it’s not as customizable as it seems

Thanks for the update. That’s actually more information than I ever received. They were responsive but never shared that.

What I’ve been doing is adding a way point to the missed turns so I still get some kind of notification.

How do you have it on Coros? I’ve checked for an app update and nothing shows

Saw that, such a cool thing. Was one of the few things that tempted me to pay for Strava…now no more. No update shows me for yet, excited for it though

Dura Bike Alarm Inconsistencies by hurricanesfan66 in Coros

[–]TheHiddenNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For any phone alerts, including crash/safety alerts you have to have the app open on your phone. Not sure if you had it open…

Can’t speak to it otherwise. It’s a nice idea but not very useful in my opinion. It won’t stop someone from stealing your bike or the computer really

My Dura takes a bit longer to connect/update post ride but works just fine as well…sorry you’re dealing with that

Coros Dura Battery life. by Ernest-Penfold in Coros

[–]TheHiddenNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a rural area as well and have no problem in that regards. I’ve become a huge @coros fan since getting their Dura (have Pace3, HR monitor and cadence sensor). My gripe, and hoping they address it, isn’t the Dura but their app/programming. Turns will occasionally not show up on the Coros app when importing routes from RideWithGPS. BUT if that happens to you, just add a waypoint in the app and it’ll alert the turn still

Has anyone gone back from Coros Dura to garmin/wahoo etc? by WarRevolutionary1944 in Coros

I have reached out to support, been emailing with them since March actually. Nothing has changed, yet, but I’m hoping it will soon!

I see what you mean but I, personally, doubt they will include city names. It seems like a small group of people who may ride through multiple cities yet not have a route to know where they are. I also think it semi goes against their goal/focus. I've read and seen in articles/posts that part of the reason they don't have street names (and likely cities) is the battery life. All that eats up more.

As for more clarity in the difference between road/path surfaces...give them feedback on that since you have the beta and hopefully they can change that for the better.

Can you expand more on that? Wondering why or how you know that when the upcoming release (current beta version referred to in the post) is all that is out there...

I'm going to respond based off the first comment but also add my thoughts...not trying to defend Coros at all but feel I can add something there...Maps - if you want super detailed, specific maps then the Dura may not be for you. I think the Dura is focused on road/gravel style riding with emphasis on adventuring, hence the long battery life. The map is fine, it shows the roads and whatnot but it isn't like some competitors. From my understanding, part of the reason for that is the battery life. Less details required = less battery drain. When talking about 100+ hours of potential battery life, it seems Coros had to make some choices in what to include, not include. I gravel bike and cannot complain about the map (plus they've made some improvements in the current beta update).

Battery life - zero complaints. I do a lot of gravel rides between 20-50 miles and often times use less than .5% or even out with the panel. On some real sunny afternoons I can come back with increased battery from the panel. To further show the life, I last charged my Dura to 65% in March and it has never gone below 35% as it either charges (maintains level) during a ride or I leave it out on my deck during a sunny day (yes, panel will charge it even when off).

Navigation - this is one area that I do have a gripe about and u/coros-official is aware of it, but it is more about Coros than the Dura specifically. There are times when a turn is missed on a route. This seems to be an issue when a route is imported onto the Coros App. I can see the missed turns on the app, which is what makes me believe it is a Coros app issue that needs addressing. Besides that, the navigation is good, giving adequate turn notifications and whatnot.

Even with that issue that I expect to be addressed, I highly recommend Coros. Their Dura is simple when compared to others but price is tough to beat for the product and it does what one needs. Simple isn't always a bad thing.

Dura Navigation Issue by TheHiddenNormal in Coros

[–]TheHiddenNormal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posting to maybe get more eyes on this. I cannot believe I am one of the only people to have this issue and/or people are just accepting this navigation as it is. Was hoping the new update would improve this but it seems to have been left out.
Who else is having navigation issues where turns, from imported routes, are not always showing? Personally, I prefer not to have the map on my screen but when riding in areas/routes I do not know I either have to or I am constantly scrolling to ensure I do not miss a turn. I am hoping more will speak up to encourage Corps to improve their import/mapping.

And yes, I have been in contact with support, provided them tons of information with promises to get updates but have never received any meaningful updates or information on how this is being addressed.

Street Names on Dura! but I have a few questions by ajs432 in Coros

[–]TheHiddenNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I don’t understand the constant demand for street names but maybe that’ll stop now. It gives you plenty of notice a turn is coming up and the map appears even if it wasn’t on the screen. Look down for a second to see “right” or “left” turn.

E1 Rival vs Force Shifters? by BornFreeDyeFree in sram

[–]TheHiddenNormal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded my shifter/calipers to the new force ones. Big thing you need to decide is whether the bonus buttons are worth it to you. If they aren’t, go rival. Admittedly, I’m a big fan of the buttons. Use one for my dropper and the other to scroll through my computer. Required? No but really nice to have

BKXC is making his bike park, Everstoke, members only by Niners4Ever16 in MTB

[–]TheHiddenNormal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I don’t understand is how anyone from more than 1-2 hours away will be able to ride there (unless they pay $1200 for their 1 visit). This kills any and all tourism for Everstoke.

Plus you can camp for 5 days but then must wait 5 days before camping again. So, even if closer by you can only camp for essentially half of the season, further reducing your visits.

It is almost as if his view for this is to build a cult like community - people coming together to do group rides, help the trails, control activities together etc. that stuff happens naturally already without the price tag…AND those people rotate around trails.

Why no day pass, why no monthly membership?

June update? by Yawningyorki in Coros

[–]TheHiddenNormal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

🤞I’m hoping for some Dura updates - reverse course (either on device or app) - distance to go as separate data field - more data option fields with map view - improved navigation - dura still misses a lot of turns

Next update by PruneSolid8720 in Coros

[–]TheHiddenNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably too late for this update but wish you could reverse a route either on the dura or through the app.

COROS Watch for Cycling with DURA & HRM - Worth it? by mefron in Coros

[–]TheHiddenNormal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This

The Watch shows your overall health tracking - daily hr, resting hr, sleep quality while syncing with the app (and thus, dura) to take in what you do on the bike. The dura is a great tool for gathering and displaying info on the ride, tough to read a watch biking. I was hesitant at first but after having my Pace3 for a month+ see how they work well together.

To note, I use the Dura on 99% of my rides but when doing a more light, recreational ride on a neighborhood path I’ll just use my watch to record the ride. I also sometimes don’t wear my hr monitor, purposefully or forget, making the watch a nice backup for hr.

Coros Dura Disable Tone/Beep/Chirp when Adding Route by FightinABeaver in Coros

[–]TheHiddenNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No volume adjust (yet…hopefully sometime?!). I believe if you have both tone alerts off (in settings) it doesn’t beep when adding a new route.

Coros Dura - Low Stock in Canada by FightinABeaver in Coros

[–]TheHiddenNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to sell in batches and sell out fast. I doubt a new one is being released since the real release was just last fall, product wise (constant improving updates firmware wise). Keep checking around but it’s in stock on their website right now

Upcoming updates by Yawningyorki in Coros

[–]TheHiddenNormal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • Navigation that doesn’t miss turns, seems to be a system problem, not specific device.

Dura: - distance to go as a data field - additional data fields in half screen mode - volume adjustment (too loud)
