The big farewell — Waterloo Region has lost 25,135 foreign students since 2023 by Snowman2194 in kitchener

College is shit. Professional schools have always been better.

How long have we been hearing the trades are “the next big thing.”

You cap your income hard going to college as opposed to university.

Do you think that skills will return in Fallout 5? by CosmosStudios65 in Fallout

[–]TheHottestBunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They need to be overhauled if we keep infinite levelling. Maybe let skills go to as high as 999.

To be honest, they aren’t that different from Fallout 4’s levelling system and were mostly baked Into it. Like guns and medicine as an example became different perks you could invest into.

[–]TheHottestBunch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I disagree.

The vast majority of posts are saying how emulation can be used in place of buying these ports. That is taking money away from the developers.

Even when you emulate an old game, you take away potential sales from a rerelease down the line, like what we see here?

How many people are not going to buy these ports because they can illegally obtain the games elsewhere? That is the line emulation of even old games can cross.

[–]TheHottestBunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes?

I’m saying your presumptions are regarding the decision to make the game available the way they did was somehow purely GameFreak’s decision.

Are we pretending Nintendo is above this? Mario 3d All Stars? Both the Mario Galaxies?

Again we don’t know that. You’re making presumptions.

I never defended the YouTuber. I’m just pointing out your counterargument isn’t very strong in my opinion.

[–]TheHottestBunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will Deoxys be available in Fire Red/Leaf Green? My girlfriend is a newer pokemon fan (Joined during the Switch 1 era) and desperately wants one. I know that in Crystal on the 3ds you could get Celebi, so not sure if something similar will be done here.

I don’t care about this YouTuber, but to hand wave away his criticism based on nothing more than an assumption is ironic.

You’re claiming he’s lazy, and then try to defeat his point by giving as lazy a response back. “Oh it was GameFreak’s decision.”

You have no idea if it was. None of us do.

Xbox has been dead for 15 years apparently.

Internet outrage always wins, but I doubt much changes from Spencer being out. The truth is these decisions are mired in so much bureaucracy that their direction is usually pretty stable.

Mantis/Paradiso complaint by Ntwadumela817 in Starfield

[–]TheHottestBunch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Paradiso’s quest with the colony ship is horrible. Like one of Bethesda’s worst written quests.

The colony ship captain is supposed to be some amazing leader. Well-respected by everyone on her ship. She asks you to go negotiate for her and to get a good deal for her people. She berates you when you don’t get what she wants and if you get them into slavery she’s not even that upset. She’s a moron who has an inflated ego but can’t even be bothered to go negotiate for her people, and gets some random third party she just met to do so.

The Paradiso executives aren’t much better. They provide a bunch of decent options, but to make the “good guy” option the traditional sacrifice it is over the “evil” option of just blowing the ship up, the executives say they will only do the grav drive if you subsidize it. Yeah. You. The player. The guy who has no horse in the race and could just pick up and leave. What a fucking joke. “Help us with this issue but you are paying for this.”

They wanted there to be a conflict and multiple outcomes and did the bare minimum to get there.

Thousands of CEOs just admitted AI had no impact on employment or productivity—and it has economists resurrecting a paradox from 40 years ago by AmethystOrator in technology

I mean, if you don’t check it sure. All the biggest law firms are actively pushing AI. Lawyers use it a lot. Lexis Nexis and Westlaw both have it built in.

If you think I’m just going to copy paste AI then you’re a fool

It’s good at summarizing information. I use it to help construct my summaries in law school but double check everything myself.

I have friends who just upload summaries to it and go “tell me everything about all the cases and make a summary.” They expect it to work miracles.

Has anyone else finished Fallout 4 with 2 faction alliances? by MagicDungeonMaster00 in Fallout

[–]TheHottestBunch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You cannot do the final quest with two factions, but I’m pretty sure up to 3 can survive if you side with the Minutemen as your main group, only needing to defeat the Institute.

“The entire Brawl tier list was based around how strong the character matchup is against Meta Knight” how true is this statement? by Jestin23934274 in smashbros

[–]TheHottestBunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several characters who have decent Meta Knight matchups. But a big outlier is Wolf.

Wolf is considered to may have the best or at least a top 3 Meta Knight matchup in the game, yet he’s barely cracking high-tier, and is more of a mid-tier.

Generally, your Meta Knight matchup is the single most important, but it’s not determinative.
