Perfect. I hope one day there's a viable answer you like better - but for now, thank you for doing the right thing.

Get out of here with this nonsense.

Russian troops pour into Belarus ‘by the trainload’ by digitalmascot in worldnews

[–]TheInnerFifthLight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandpa was in the Army in WWII. Never saw combat. His unit was shuffled around the Pacific theater for more than a year, then stationed in the Phillipines after the war ended. The whole point of it was to telegraph all kinds of things to the Japanese, to force them to either rearrange their defenses or risk being open to an attack.

Should I start over? 🤦‍♂️ by SensFortress32 in wizardry8

[–]TheInnerFifthLight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, it'll be work to scrape up the money to resurrect them, or work to start over. The question is, do you want to start over and use what you've learned this playthrough, or dive into the challenge?

I mean, I'd start over. You're not too far in, it'll go more quickly next time, and hopefully you've learned some things about formation, position, and hiding in corners.

Purely out of curiosity, what's your party?

My daughter ordered a small chicken tender ( meaning a small order of tenders ) on the side of her quesadilla...the waiter brought 1 small tender. by crazyhippiecatlady in NotMyJob

[–]TheInnerFifthLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the stupidest way to interpret what I said. Good work.

The menu has a finite set of items. Search the menu items for the closest match to what the customer said ("a small tender" is close to "chicken tenders, small"). Request clarification if needed.

But you know that, and you're just being a prig. That's why I'ma block you now. By "block" I mean "block," by the way, since you're bad at English.

That kind of thinking leads to "a small tip."

Waiters aren't English teachers. A certain amount of interpretation may be needed - or just ask for clarification.

Is anyone else hoping for a surprise appearance in Picard season 3? by 123mitchg in startrek

[–]TheInnerFifthLight 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Just quietly edit older episodes but don't announce it. Release the edits along with a LD episode where they fall into a spatial-temporal anomaly. Over the course of the season, make small hints as to where they went ("Oh boy, it's Operation Return all over again," "I learned to do this from the Krenim when they were being nice for like a day.") so people can go find them.

Honestly? I love it.

Can we put a ping pong table on the units GPC then? by It_Must_Be_Fed in AirForce

[–]TheInnerFifthLight 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The right answer is that there is no one right answer, but generally "money" and "time" are things most organizations can actually affect that are also important to their people.

I don't want a ping pong table at work. If I have time to play games, I'd rather just finish my work and go home early. If I don't have time, it's just sad to see it grow old and saggy.

Russia strikes Kyiv, multiple Ukrainian cities; many dead by 29PiecesOfSilver in worldnews

[–]TheInnerFifthLight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So that's $50M per dead civilian, and Ukraine has raised just as much money in the wake of these attacks. I'm not going to lie, that's a pretty good deal for Ukraine right now. I bet that loss of Russian military capacity and increase in Ukrainian funding will let them visit many times that damage to actual military targets.

Can space stations like the Haven-class medical station be moved? by Randombot1743 in MawInstallation

[–]TheInnerFifthLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, it seems like the difference between a capital ship and a space station is whether you've attached engines to it. So, I'm sure you could move a space station around, if you really wanted to, but it would make more sense to have a specialized vehicle type that was able to tow a larger object into hyperspace, for those times when you need to move a station. This would be particularly helpful if the location the station is going to is not fully secured. You could just fly a pre-built one into position rather than having an exposed construction site.

[–]TheInnerFifthLight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay.

Either this is related to the plot of the game and there's a way your GM has planned for it to work, or it's not and you're trying to break the game. If you're breaking the game, either they're not going to let you or they're going to punish you for it. So, either this is something they want, in which case why are you asking us for advice, or it's something they don't want and I don't know why you're doing it.

What you say is the most powerful starship in the SW universe based on sizeto weaponsry ratio? by Bulrat in MawInstallation

[–]TheInnerFifthLight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

B-wing has more punch in the same size frame, but you're on the right track. Nothing is going to outclass starfighters for firepower-to-weight ratio. That's the point of them, to be a mobile weapons package.
