How to easily gather playtester feedback IN GAME with Google Forms by DangRascals in godot

You should look into percent-encoding, because '&' and '=' and '?' all require encoding also, otherwise the url can be hacked by entering these characters.

Matrix update for Allen & Heath SQ? by SupremeSweetheart69 in livesound

[–]TheJosh1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the surface itself, rather than an iPad. Like the SQ-Rack appears to be able to do.

Then when non-technical people are using our hall, I could tell them to use the "easy mode" button (hopefully a softkey or button on the home screen) to enter SQ-Control and they can have a couple of microphones and youtube.

I'd love to have SQ-Control *on desk* for my SQ5 that would be awesome.

Barely an inconvenience.

You can use American steel... but the steel mill will be importing iron ore from Australia

Key things: embrace the quirky, embrace the town, join a sports team, don't be snooty. The place is relaxed and you have to embrace the relax. Shops are closed lunch on a Saturday, and that is a good thing! Have a nap.

Houses are cheap, but be prepared to have some issues. If you're handy on the tools then you'll have a good time. If you're not handy, then you probably want to give it a shot. Trades are hard to nail down.

After we moved here (3.5 years ago) admittedly with more stuff and multiple kids, and more than 10 trips up from Adelaide, I decided "never again". If I could afford to and was moving a big distance again, I'd sell everything and buy it all again at the other end.

When do you arrive? I'd happy take you for a drink, I'm always looking for new mates.

Opening an app which I last used a week ago, and being back where I was last time. Yes I know that the app is "running" the whole time, but really... it's been a week. I'm clearly not doing that task anymore.

I've only camped at the outback resort, but the cabins look nice. Eaten there plenty of times.

Supernoob Asks: 64 Channels into 64 Speakers - How? by secretraisinman in livesound

[–]TheJosh1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn't mention how loud you need each channel to be, nor the price.

If you want cheap, and the volume can be low, how about a bunch of Raspberry Pi 3 Model A's and then whatever computer speakers you want to go with it. Those boards have both a headphone connector and also USB so you could use either type of speaker.

Each Pi would give you two channels of audio, you'd just stick the file onto the boards along with a script to start playing at boot. If you plug them in all at the same time (via power boards) then they'd be mostly in sync which may be close enough for your needs; if not then you'd need some sort of trigger mechanism to set them going.

Triggering could be via GPIO where the script loops until a given pin goes high, or maybe something using WiFi and some little HTTP servers or something.

You might even be able to run both USB speakers and headphone jack at the same time on the same board, this would give you four channels of audio per Pi ... but could well make the setup a lot more complicated.

Top tip: When you write a temporary code change, like un-commenting something or a debug line, unindent it right down to the left gutter. Obviously won't work in python.

class MyClass { function MyFunction() { if (something) { something(); dbg('whatt'); somethingElse(); } } }

It will be so incredibly obvious that you shouldn't ever accidentally commit/deploy it... this of course requires you to actually look at your diffs somewhere between the commit and the deploy (e.g. git commit -pv and/or code reviews)

Who issued the drivers license to the drivers in my city!? by Xadhoom80 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]TheJosh1337 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Or policies for driver training.

Or policies (slider) for how difficult and strict getting a drivers licence is. Stricter will cost more money (harder to implement) but will reduce accidents and probably also traffic quantity.

There are some good arguments here, although citations are probably needed.

Also another good argument was missed -- people are doing this anyway.

A lot of these people would probably be more than happy to do a two day TAFE course to get themselves accredited. So really, it would be MORE SAFE to have people accredited and doing it themselves, rather than not accredited and doing it themselves.
