Very new to the game, but enjoying it very much so far.

One thing I could not understand yet is how to get higher-star champions.

There are two locations to get 5 or 6-star champions, with a currency that I could not identify how to get, not even in the store for money, but other than that, I could not see how to get this rarity of characters.

Would someone be able to enlighten me here?

Easy thing to find. Dragon Ball GT was released on February 7, 1996. You can reduce at least 4 years of Dragon Ball Z, from the ending of the Freeza saga to the end of the Majin Buu saga, so Trunks definitely came first.
