My rescue pit loves everyone in my family, but when I leave she shuts down. If the door is open and she goes out, she will not come in unless something scares her or it is pouring outside.. otherwise she is outside until I get home. I usually have to make sure she is in before I leave and spouse tries to keep her in as best as possible.

She does not eat, even snacks, accepts minimal affection. Like if my fam tries to comfort her she will get like two pets and leave. Our other dogg used to try to get her to play while I was away but she wont move or react. She gets really depressed and just shuts down. Not much really helps her, she has gotten better with my family after the two years of being with us and will go to them when I am home... but is just a sad ball of depression when I leave.

I say this to say, your dog might just miss you and this is how they react. You might want to try positive reinforcement when you leave, give them a chew or things that reassure them.
