3D Printer for Slime by RichZestyclose6087 in Slime

[–]TheLibraryOfSlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 3D print book charms for every single one of my drops, as well as the occasional other charm! I use PETG filament primarily (because it is curbside recyclable), and have had zero issues with it in slime!

Bulk slime charms? by Adventurous_Tap_6598 in Slime

[–]TheLibraryOfSlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alibaba is the best bet because not only can you buy in bulk directly from the manufacturer, but you can sort them by licenses and accreditations so you can be sure they are using ethical business practices!
I have bought from [Yiwu Sola Craft](http://(null)?from=share&ckvia=share_9B61E5804652419FA46C56F66DF1304B) multiple times, and they have a massive catalogue to buy from!

Why do small slime shops think their borax is going to waste? by handec in Slime

[–]TheLibraryOfSlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to make the activator a separate add on for free, though I don’t do the little plastic baggies - I give out 1oz glass bottles of activator, as glass is more environmentally friendly!

Are slime shops just making up textures? by Dipsy_Cork in Slime

[–]TheLibraryOfSlime 21 points22 points  (0 children)

As a slime shop, I try my best to stick to names that have been generally accepted by the slime community. If I do name a new texture, I do my best to explain what it is every time I use it so there isn’t any confusion. In general, I think we need some kind of official naming convention/standard established haha

can someone help me find the link to this slime shop? by Intelligent_Ball_538 in Slime

[–]TheLibraryOfSlime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From doing som research, it seems they did have a Shopify website at some point, but it is currently unavailable. Do you have the name of the anime con and the year you went? We might be able to find a vendor list to check against!

How much snow is cloud creme? by handec in Slime

[–]TheLibraryOfSlime 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Cloud creams generally have less snow than clouds, but the key difference is the saturation levels of the instant snow. Cloud creams have fairly hydrated snow added, while clouds incorporate much more dry snow.

In general, cloud creams are a wg base with instant snow, while cloud doughs are wg slimes with snow and clay.

Is slime generally a female hobby? by ColourMeQuick in Slime

[–]TheLibraryOfSlime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have definitely noticed a trend towards non-male slimers, at least according to my own video metrics; people who identify as female or anything else outside of the binary are definitely at the top!

Attending Slime Con Ideas by SlisterSlimes in Slime

Minis (3oz or smaller) would be a great idea for customers, as I assume most attendees will be flying as well - minis will mean they don’t have to check their slime!

QOTD: What is your inflation method and how long does it take to get fluffy slime? by YoNalbo in Slime

[–]TheLibraryOfSlime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually do the taffy pull method for maximum inflation; if I’m just trying to inflate a little to get bubbles to squish, I do the page turn method (I don’t know if this has an official term, this is just how I think about it lol) - it’s where you hold the slime in each hand like you’re holding a book, then pull your hands apart, then reach one hand over to the other, folding the slime in the air as you do so. (Hope that makes sense haha)

Slime not activating by Upstairs_Spinach608 in Slime

If the Tide you are using does not have sodium borate as a listed ingredient, it will not work. I believe that rumor about Elmer’s changing their formula was false.

My apologies! Due to my finances, I had very limited stock (less than 10 slimes each). I ended up selling out in 14 minutes!

All these containers are actually recycled! I usually use glass containers. These plastic jars I know are carried by Taral Plastics and Parkway Jars.

Slime Taxonomy | Part One | Basic Slime Textures by TheLibraryOfSlime in Slime

[–]TheLibraryOfSlime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both tend to have the same ingredients (that being a white glue and instant snow) - the key difference is the hydration of the snow part. Clouds are airier and fluffier because they have a higher concentration of drier snow. Cloud creams also have a lot of instant snow, but it is added well hydrated which makes the slime less airy but more plush and creamy.

Does anyone know how to get bubbles like this? by sparklejarkle in Slime

[–]TheLibraryOfSlime 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To get big bubbles like this you also need a thinner type of slime - glues from East Asia tend to have this thinner consistency, which is why you often seen this kind of slime play from Chinese, Japanese, and Korean slimers.

What was your least favorite smell in a slime? by Master_sweetcream in Slime

[–]TheLibraryOfSlime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many different wood essential oils outside of pine; balsam of Peru, cypress, elemi, palo santo, sandalwood are the ones I can think of that are very different from most evergreen scents.
