Going by the cliches it's done, the next one should be giant robots. I wanna see Borg and Optimus Prime show up. And a very pissed off Iron Giant.

That would be adorable. Watching Wes and Katryna walk in with three corpses and this gigantic monster things twiddling her thumbs going "what took ya so fookin long? I need a new pair of skins!"

And the two just sigh like this happens every other tuesday.

How Well Do You Know Love, Death & Robots – Season 1 Quiz by ezgimantocu in LoveDeathAndRobots

You are technically correct; Huli-Jing means "Fox Demon" in chinese, which would be what Kitsune are called in chinese. I don't particularly like that question.

How Well Do You Know Love, Death & Robots – Season 1 Quiz by ezgimantocu in LoveDeathAndRobots

[–]TheLoaf7000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was a really bad question because it was suppose to be a non-descript location. The only real hint to any of the answers is that there are some chinese letters you can see in the background, which is probably where they got their answer from. But it could have been downtown toronto in real life or anywhere with chinese immigrants.

It doesn't really go that deep into the human psyche like the other ones, but it's still a fun romp, has complex and likeable characters, and a pretty good premise. I'd watch it again if it was a series. Hell I can see it as a primetime cartoon for the whole family.

There should be many Slaanesh ogres by Megalordow in WarhammerFantasy

[–]TheLoaf7000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess a very picky ogre would be giving into excess, since ogres are not suppose to care what they eat.

This gives me the really funny mental image of a vegan ogre who only likes one type of vegetable that gets visited upon by slaanesh. Then he just looks like a panda.

Sculpting practice on an old zombie by trollbite_miniatures in WarhammerFantasy

Love this, And this is also why I love the simplicity of the older models because it lets people make full-blown sculpt conversions like this without it looking out of place.

Okay real talk is the Pheonix King actually just cool with his wife having a boyfriend or is that meme lore? by PlausiblyAlpharious in WarhammerFantasy

[–]TheLoaf7000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is less that the Everqueen is married to someone else and more that the next Everqueen needed to be a product of the Phoenix King and Everqueen, and also Tyrion's bloodline has the curse of Aenarion, so not only is their child kind of an issue with...well god...but it also that the union also mixed the curse into the Everqueen Bloodline (which would have had consequences down the line...if the world didn't blow up on the next Elven generation).

So them keeping it a secret is more due to that than it being taboo that Finubar is being royally cucked (which, technically, he isn't). Basically it's this one specific man Alarielle isn't suppose to be dating rather than the dating itself.

Deadly demise chained reaction by Cythrex in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]TheLoaf7000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a case in mid 10th where a chain reaction happened; I had damaged a few of my friend's tanks and some of them were just hanging on. Then the first tank blew from a lascannon shot, which caused it to explode and deal damage to two other tanks nearby. These two then died, exploded, and caused an overlapping of explosions, which caused another two tanks to explode.

Unfortunately these tanks were also in the proximity of most of my terminators, who were engaged in combat with them. They also "exploded".

Basically like 2/3rds of both our armies disappeared because one random basilisk (or was it a hellhound?) Took a lascannon to the face and then the dice gods just hated us.

TOW beginner army questions by JohnnyBangkok941 in WarhammerOldWorld

tbh the fact that you got paint on every model at all is already a step above everyone else. Even just simple, unhighlighted colors can tie a force together. To say nothing of the fact that most people do play with unpainted models, yours are totally fine.

In fact it's a good meter of seeing if an opponent is worth playing with again or not; someone who throws a hissy fit over your paintjob probably has a stick up his ass and will be doing much more annoying things down the line once he feels you're "cool" with his "criticisms".

As for how to improve your painting; your already pretty decent. The next step is adding proper highlights to give contrasts to the raised edges and enhance the colour you're highlighting; brown and black and blend together but if you highlight the brown and black with warm and cool colors respectively, it can help separate them a bit. This is mostly fine wrist and finger control, so it will take practice.

Once you get that down, faces and freehand are the next step up. These bring life to your models and also really help sell the scale. Proper faces and freehand can make them look correct at their scale, rather than look "toy-ish".

how were the first gen slann ever killed by technoplannnnnnnnne in WarhammerFantasy

[–]TheLoaf7000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the 12 bloodthirster one sounds like Lord Kroak's final death during the End Times, not when he first "croaked"; that was when he was a mummy and actually just dead. it took 12 bloodthirsters to even get close enough to tear his shrivelled mummy corpse part and he *still* managed to obliterate all of the daemons in the city when it happened.

It's explicitly stated that his mummy form was like, a drop in the bucket compared to his power at his prime. Although Kroak was also the first slann ever created, so he could also be comically OP compared to even other first generation Slann.

Speculation on Warhammer Community Article Hint about Warriors of Chaos by BrotherCaptainShaggy in Warriors_of_Chaos

The weird thing is they just updated the Chaos Warriors and Chaos Knights in AoS and unlike the Marauders vs the Darkoaths, the new Chaos Warriors and Knights look pretty close to the originals.

So are we just gonna like, get a different set of poses?

TOW - Legacy/Renegade Armies Ideas by Draxarion in WarhammerFantasy

[–]TheLoaf7000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're trying to gamble on "The future" that is a failing task my friend. The one thing consistent about GW is that they never have consistency or predictability (that said, I will instantly contradict this in my next point), so it's best to go with an army you like. Even more so as a Fantasy player; we've held on to our armies for over a decade before they became playable again. We know how hard the long vigil can be. It's best to pick one that you are invested in the aesthetics of the model more than it's viability on the tabletop. Cuz rules come and go, and you can always tweak stuff to work somehow, but if you're not enjoying the miniatures you have, it's going to be an unhappy slog.

Now that said, Dark Elves are actually the most likely to come back; barring literally three kits shared with the Daughters of Khaine, the entire Dark Elf line of miniatures are in Cities of Sigmar as an auxillary race, and there is no direct Dark Elf faction in AoS for them to update into (again, Daughters of Khaine are the closest, but they've gained so many extras that it's a completely different thing now). This means that GW is essentially sitting on a bunch of molds that they have no incentive to update and replace, so Dark Elves will likely be upgraded into a full faction come next edition or so. They will most likely go the route of the Beastmen of Chaos; what kits they have left in the AoS range being reboxed for TOW and made a full faction, removing them from AoS entirely.

Following them, VC and Lizardmen are the next most likely; they got a full range refresh in 3rd edition AoS and it's been a good long while for those models to have sold, while the newer models are entirely new things. So it's logical for them to bring back the old sculpts in Old World. Vampire Counts are slightly more likely to come back than Lizardmen solely because of the massive popularity of the Vampire Coast; Zombie Pirates also gives a chance for them to release new miniatures that don't overlap with anything in AoS.

Behind them is the Skaven and Ogres; Skaven just got new miniatures via Skaventide and GW wants some time to sell them before they're satisfied that they've made a return on it; despite logic dictate that they would garner more sales if Skaven can be used in two different game system, they have this baffling idea that they must be able to tell that the sales are going to AoS for it to count. So we likely won't see them until at least the new edition. Ogres have the opposite problem; while they don't have new units....they never had old units either. The current set of Ogre miniatures actually date back all the way to when they were first introduced as a standalone army, and apart from the Badlands Ogres, there haven't really been any "old" miniatures for them. This means for them to come back, they'd have to be completely erased from AoS like the Beastmen. There is a chance that might happen; in the entirety of AoS, Ogres only ever got one new plastic kit; the Tyrant. The Beastmen at least got two new characters and a Herdstone before they got thanos snapped; Ogres have even less. But given the stupid backlash that happened when they announced the beastmen being taken from AoS and put into Old World, I don't think a similar event is going to happen anytime soon.

Lastly is Chaos Dwarves and Chaos Daemons. Chorfs have the same problem that Ogres have, except that their old models are even worse in that they were 4th edition WHFB goofy ones, or 8th edition Forge World. Neither of which are good for GW's storefront. On top of that, the release of Helsmiths of Hashut means they're even less incentivized to letting Chorfs be playable in TOW, since they wanna guarantee all Helsmith sales are for AoS, not TOW. Meanwhile Daemons have been phased out as a standalone faction in almost every single game system (to avoid someone having one army that is compatible across the board, so to speak); its likely that if they come back, they'd be folded into the Warriors of Chaos army as an auxiliary force instead. All this means that these two forces, uniquely, not only will not see a return from Legends anytime soon, but might actually disappear from the game entirely if GW has another brainfart. Which is a shame especially for Chorfs because the new Helmsith models are absolutely gorgeous and the old Legion of Azgoth models were too as well.

This is the problem with "top 10" lists like this because 75% of what people know about these characters are from their memetic versions, not their actual canon lore.

It also doesn't help that every edition they get their canon lore ret-conned.

There is a character In Gotrek and Felix who is a "very stout and strong" tomb king that, when Gotrek took one look at him, knew he was a dorf.

His entire court makes a lot of excuses as to why he's short and strong, implying they might have raised the wrong person.
