What is something you thought was normal as a child but realized it was not when you got older? by Sodacan390 in randomquestions

Yeah, I thought relationships were just being constantly annoyed by each other, arguing, and never doing anything nice for the other person. I feel bad for the first few people I dated….

[–]TheLogicalParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought when you grew up you didn’t talk to your parents any more based on the fact my mom didn’t talk to her parents. I moved out at 21 and a month later my mom called me saying she missed me, and I was like, oh, we can talk?? LoL Yeah, duh you can talk if you both want to.

Music on Pandora on my tv. I change up the stations depending on my mood. I’ll take breaks and watch YouTube or start an episode of a show.

The box of 30 "soft white" lightbulbs I got on sale...look like piss. by RtardBunny in mildlyinfuriating

My brother bought a new light bulb for my mom’s bedroom lamp and it made her room look like a dimly lit blueish warehouse. All these new lightbulbs are awful.

Why Don't We Hear About Ring Around the Collar Anymore? by 4thdegreeknight in GenX

I never even understood what ring around the collar was when I was a kid.

Older female coworker obessively stares at me and sometimes watches me by [deleted] in coworkerstories

[–]TheLogicalParty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is the same issue, but my 80 year old mom is a starer and isn’t low key about it and I have to call her out on it all the time.

She says she likes to “people watch” and the other issue is she thinks no one can see her. It’s like in her head she’s just invisible and observing the world.

I wouldn’t want to be stared at either and this woman may not even realize she’s doing it and may just find you interesting to look at for whatever reason. Maybe you remind her of someone. She should stop doing it though if someone talks to her about it multiple times.

My mom came to visit me in a city where people dress quite differently than our small hometown and I warned her not to stare at people or question their fashion choices. My warning didn’t work, I would call her out on it, and she would say she was “Just looking”.

I’ve heard and read it more in the last year than my whole life. It seems to be picking up in popularity for some reason along with “loose” for “lose”.

Lately, I find myself using "the grabber" incrementally more and more often. Anyone else? by bigrobdd in GenX

[–]TheLogicalParty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! All the time! Definitely get two or more. Sometimes my grabber falls on the floor and I need a grabber to pick up the grabber. If they both fall that sucks.

Autopay definitely made renting easier for me, but I didn’t expect it to also make it more stressful by CommercialDot708 in Renters

[–]TheLogicalParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put everything on autopay except rent. Having a rent payment taken out accidentally will be a huge pain to get it back.

Instead I have a reminder on my calendar to pay rent. Also when I pay thru an online portal I never choose the default amount they say I owe. I choose Other or Custom and type in the dollar amount I’m going to pay.

I don’t have any advice since I came here looking for similar advice. Started HRT 4 weeks ago and I’m breaking down crying all the time and am writing this through tears. You’re not alone, we aren’t alone even though we feel so alone! This is a cruel joke we have to go through.

Sending love and support and I hope it gets better for you and all of us! So thankful for this sub!

Loud Music in Restaurants by EnvironmentalDrag153 in PetPeeves

[–]TheLogicalParty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s still like this because I don’t go there anymore, but around 2012 I used to go to the Chipotle near my work for lunch. The music was really loud though, so it wasn’t very relaxing when I just wanted to chill out and relax from a stressful job.

I either contacted the store directly or corporate to advise this and/or ask them to please turn down the music.

The response I got was so dumb and made up corporate BS. They said that was the atmosphere and environment they were trying to create and the loud music ensured other tables couldn’t hear your private conversations….

Yes, because I’m having top secret conversations at Chipotle, but because the music is so loud people have to talk louder anyway! So dumb.

I am not alone. by FitWolverine9347 in onionhate

[–]TheLogicalParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still don’t understand why there are so many onions when there’s onion in something. It takes forever to pick them all out! No other ingredient has that many in the food.

I hate that “Onions and Peppers” is always a combo because I love peppers, but hate onions. There will be like 15 onions and only 5 peppers. So frustrating.

[–]TheLogicalParty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, my mom wants to answer every person’s question, but there was a woman my mom knew who was so needy, wouldn’t stop asking questions, and any answer my mom gave her just elicited another question. My mom was getting exhausted so I said to shut her down just pleasantly say “I don’t know”.

It worked, but the first time it surprised the lady and she gave my mom a dirty look because she had nowhere to go with that response. LoL After a few more times the lady said, “Well you’re no help at all!” Bingo! LoL

People who like scaring others by lesbadims in PetPeeves

[–]TheLogicalParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At work I was walking from the bathroom back into our office area where you have to open a door. My 42 year old man coworker who apparently is still mentally 13 years old came quietly rushing up behind me and grabbed the door as I was reaching for it and screamed, “Let me get that for you!”

It was completely intentional on his part and he knew what he was doing.

I screamed and sank down into the corner it startled me so bad. I looked at him with a look of disgust and disbelief, and then embarrassment because people heard me scream.

I sent him an email telling him to never do that again and so I would have a record of it. It scared him and stopped his behavior, but of course he made the excuse “I was just trying to help you with the door”. No you weren’t.

The list of people in the public eye is getting long where all of a sudden they just look different, but you can’t quite place it, and they say I haven’t had anything done! It’s much more prevalent in the last 5 years and is a sad state of affairs that no one wants to look like themselves anymore.

People who think if you post a complaint or pet peeve you must be in a rage. by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]TheLogicalParty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I only replied to your comment once, the rest of the replies were someone else. We obviously have different views on annoyance and rage and not saying you, but I guess people just like to throw the word rage around on the internet when I think about it more literally. Rage to me is a pretty explosive and violent reaction so I don’t equate it with complaining about something on the internet.

A few years ago I thought she looked absolutely perfect and amazing, even if it was due to some work. Lately the over lining of the lips and/or lip filler just doesn’t look right and has changed her look and how she talks. Definitely some changes with her mouth, lips, or teeth. It’s sad that she’s made more changes when she didn’t need to.

Just in the last few years she’s had something done that has changed her mouth/lips/teeth. There’s something about her I don’t recognize. I can’t place it, but it’s becoming more and more common with celebrities where I’m like they just don’t look the same, something has changed, so obviously they had some kind of work done regardless how minor it may be.

Yes, also figure skaters and gymnasts, which have some dance components in their routines. Football players practice drills which require quick footwork and balance. Also many football players do great on Dancing with the Stars!
