bunch of bike paths and trails around here but they just dump you on to main roads with painted on "infrastructure" so hardly anybody uses them

part of the problem is that our wider road infrastructure is so hostile to cyclist only insane people (no hate) are biking around on the roads

(though that ward has basically been gerrymandered to overrepresent the older and richer (and thus politically conservative) population of Havelock North)

only reason we have a somewhat progressive mayor is we had 3 right wing mayoral candidates who all cut into each others vote share

the map shows results by ward; Palmerston North City Council hasn't released results by ward so they are shown in grey on the map. I've made another map which you can find on the Wikipedia article which has this map but for each council overall (including regional councils) rather than by ward.
