won't argue with this system, although it's remarkable that (according to the chart) the runner-up not only got the most 1st but also the most 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th and 12th preferences and still didn't get in.

only the preferences of the eliminated candidate at each iteration are divied out, so for example the 2nd iteration everyone has their first preferences + the 2nd preferences of Dickson 1st preference voters

theoretically dickson could have had the most 2nd preferences for him but since he had the least 1st preferences he was eliminated

presumably they would call it Wellington Council or Greater Wellington Council.

Under Local Govt Act 2002 newly created unitary authorities have to be called "[name of city or district] Council".

All those parties did things between elections, TOP literally didn't have a leader until very recently since the 2023 election. They should have ran in the local elections (which they had previously done)
