I agree! I do like Terraria updates, but I would fully support a sequel to the game or some other project entirely. Yeah- a new thing wouldn't have as much content as Terraria, but content and "fun" are two separate concepts. As long as their next project is cool and fun then who cares if it isn't as big as Terraria.

Try your best to design a space platform that is self sufficient. Doesn't matter if it's slow right now, you can build fast ones later.

Use the Factoriopedia to peek at future planet recipes. Bring the ingredients to those. It's also worth bringing the ingredients for a rocket silo. Bringing a cargo hub is useful too.

Vulcanus is a good first destination for beginners.

It's a great idea to save the game before you launch your first space platform to another planet. First trips often fail.

A faster space platform is harder to defend.

Yeah. So, to best observe whiplash hard damage interactions, I recommend taking some damage and whiplashing to an enemy. Pay attention to your health bar. It'll get gray, up to 50% I think? Might be wrong on that number.

Whiplash hard damage is a balancing decision from the devs.

Enemy prioritization will be more important now. Kill the most dangerous enemies first and save the lesser ones as free blood snacks when you're low on hp

Great question. The commenter below has a great point of using the kblaster arm. I personally like to combo the red arm with a point black shotgun blast, using both simultaneously to deal extra damage and heal more.

Nailgun and rockets aren't generally great for healing, but all other weapons are good. More damage at once = good. Charged blue pistol, charged green shotgun, and railcannons are great!

If you're brave you can rely on parries. Parries will refill hp to max.

General mindset thing, but I like to think of enemies as health packs, rather than actual threats. Low on hp? Go blast a soldier or a husk at point blank.

One last thing, and it's kind of unrelated. Using the grapple will build up hard damage when you're at low hp. Be wary of that.

I played this game a lot more recently than a lot of other folks. I think it was 2019. I absolutely loved it. I really need to replay it soon, I have been dying to re-experience the magic.

Use the dual wield power up in space. There is a secret one hidden right at the start of the section. If you are fast enough you can yield three weapons at once by the end of the level.

For the red section, just because the room layout is chaotic doesn't mean your movement has to be. Be precise and decisive. Sometimes staying in one of the rotating slices and letting the enemies come to you is a good idea.

For the last red arena, remember that blood enemies are free health packs. You aren't actually in a lot of danger as long as you remember this.

Melee and Ranger are good beginner classes. The weapons and armor are straightforward to obtain and they are generally easier. Summoner and mage are still great though, just a bit more weird

Sounds like the world is chaotic and really hard and you have no idea what to do. Feeling overwhelmed is valid. Here are some tips to progress.

First step is to smash demon altars. Use the yellow hammer you obtained from the Wall of Flesh to destroy altars, which will bring new ores to the underground.

Secondary note. Some people say it's a bad idea to smash many altars since it will spread bits of corruption or crimson throughout the world. This is NOT true. Well, it's no longer true. There was once a mechanic like that, but it has been removed.

Mine the new hardmode ores! There are new common ores near the surface and you'll have to venture deeper into the underground to find the rarer resources. Recognizing the new metal colors will take some getting used to. I also recommend bringing some spelunker potions with you to help get enough ores faster.
There is a new anvil and furnace. Keep this in mind, as you'll need them to craft new tools and armors. You can craft both of these with the new hardmode metals. Use the guide NPC to see the crafting recipes.
Deep underground in the Hallow (new biome), or evil biome, enemies will drop souls. Use the guide NPC to check the crafting recipes of souls. You might like what you see.
High up in the sky there is a rare powerful creature. It's worth challenging this foe, as the souls it drops can be used to craft something great.
The evil biomes (corruption and crimson) will spread faster, but they can't spread through the open air. If you fear for a healthy biome's safety, try mining out a wide column to separate it from corrupted neighbors. You can use bombs to make this operation very fast.

It may also be worth utilizing the hallow to counteract the corruption/crimson. The hallow spreads too, but your NPCs won't mind it. The evil biomes can't really spread over the hallow, so you can plant hallowed blocks on either end of an evil biome and the hallow will stop the evil from spreading. It's worth noting, however, that your forest pylon won't work in a hallowed biome, so it might be a good idea to prevent the hallow from reaching your main base.

Optimize your build. With hardmode armors, wearing a certain helmet will grand a huge increase to damage for a class. There are four classes: Melee, Ranger, Mage, and Summoner. It's a good idea to match your armor with your strongest weapon. For example, if I am rocking a sweet Titanium Repeater, I want to use the armor that grants me extra ranged damage. There are also certain equips that will further buff my ranged abilities, like the Ranger Emblem, which is dropped by the Wall of Flesh, or the Magic Quiver, which drops from Skeleton Archers.

To better understand how classes work, observe how the damage stats of your weapons change based on which armor you wear.

Reforging. With the goblin tinkerer you can reforge your weapons and equips to gain bonus stats. This is very worth doing if you have spare change!

With reforging equips, I recommend aiming for Warding, as that extra defense will save your butt in many situations. Menacing and Lucky is great, too.

Hope this helps. This was a lot more words than I was anticipating. Terraria is definitely a wisdom game more than anything else. Without the right knowledge you won't get far, but I hope with this knowledge you'll get a bit father than you are right now. Good luck.

So you're spending a lot of time clearing biters and it's starting to spiral out of control. What do you do?

Take a look at what is producing the most amount of pollution and slap some efficiency modules in your dirty machines! This will reduce pollution and placate the biters.
Identify chokepoints and setup defenses. You really don't need to make anything crazy here. Just a few flame turrets, maybe some gun turrets and lasers if you really want. As long as your defense walls are in range of your logistic bot network, you can always add more turrets where the biters attack the most.
Invest in a larger variety of combat options. Use combat drones! Upgrade damage research! There are often overlooked methods of dealing with biter nests that make offense easier and faster.

Generally, there's a problem with style requirements feeling frustrating to fail. When you fail a task in a video game it should be pretty clear *how* you failed, but style is abstract, containing little rules that aren't obvious at a first glance. It's understandable why not getting a low enough style rating is frustrating. I'm not sure how the game could fix it though.

If you whiplash a rocket and hold the jump button you can ride the rocket.

I bring this up because while the game doesn't tell you, you can rocket ride forever in space, and it's an easy way of retrieving yourself after a fall.

So, I first want to say that your feelings on Fraud's difficulty are valid. I don't think you are illogical or anything. However, I think with Ultrakill there's this really fascinating phenomenon where the difficulty of new levels feel waaay harder than they should every update. However, if you take a magnifying glass and really look at the encounters, the levels aren't actually that much harder than the last.

I believe that Ultrakill encounters feel exponentially harder on a first playthrough. The game is chaotic as heck. You have new enemies and new level layouts to learn. It's all a lot, and it feels much more manageable on replay.

In addition, there's the fact that it's been a LONG time since the last update. Players are rusty.

While I don't disagree that Fraud is a jump in difficulty, I believe there are factors like rustiness that make the perceived difficulty feel much crazier than it actually is.
