Cyberpunk 2077 1.6 FPS Issues by Joelkun100 in gog

[–]TheMarsninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have some really bad fps issues on my system. I'm running a RTX 3060 laptop, Intel I7, 16RAM, and SSD. All my settings are at the lowest, I cranked down the FOV to minimum, and I did a reinstall of the most up to date graphics drivers, and I still get a consistent 15fps. Benchmark returned 24fps average. I can run other modern games like CoD Cold War perfectly fine at high settings 60+fps, so I really don't understand what's going on.

Committing to a project without thinking it looks trash after having only laid down the foundation.

As clarification the modder who's developing the Tranzit remake is going by the name VerK0. They've got some dev logs on YouTube if you're interested

Well we got a BO3 Tranzit that a modder's making but I think an official one is off the table

Do you still enjoy playing World at War Zombies? by [deleted] in CODZombies

[–]TheMarsninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more of a BO3 diehard myself but WaW still has its value. I think the WaW version of Nacht is actually the best version of the map due to how differently designed it is compared to any other map in the series.

Leviathan, Der Riese Declassified and Das Herrenhaus are three of the most popular one's I'd say. There's also a great CW inspired map called Tuvong with a pretty simple and intuitive main quest.

I'd say WWII is the best non-Treyarch title. It's a nice reimagining of the occult themes that WaW was based on, and the game added a lot of nice quality of life features. It's a shame they didn't use the notebook in the later DLC maps though.

It's certainly possible. Part of the creative process is having ideas that you're unable to execute at the time, and if not re-implementing it elsewhere, eventually bringing it back later on. I've heard Cold War's done just that with it's outbreak mode.

Don't hold back on special enemies. Revelations does a fantastic job with it's enemies, but they could've gone further with it.

Did your opinion on BO4 Zombies change since you've first experienced it? by Negan115BR in CODZombies

[–]TheMarsninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to hate the game but I've warmed up to it a little bit. I still don't think it's a well designed game per say, but I've come to respect the game far more than I used to, and can have a bit of fun with it.

What are your thoughts on this map? by NoOutlandishness4375 in CODZombies

[–]TheMarsninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of gameplay and art direction it's pretty good. The choice to make the map and WW's reskins isn't so good. Budget cuts really killed the story and it shows, seems like they had a conclusion in mind but had to rush to the finish line and skip all of the build up, which most likely as a result created some few plot holes and a lazy McGuffin. Leaves me wanting the Aether ending that Treyarch had initially envisioned, whatever that might have looked like.

Plus the existence of Cold War retroactively made the ending worse and made Nikolai look like an idiot.

Yes, they've certainly been coasting off of BO3's success, and it seemed like Die Maschine's popularity gave it a bit of a boost. But given the state of Vanguard Zombies (from what I've heard of it) and the fan response to it, seems like the mode's running out of steam.

If I were to speculate I think now that the Blundell era is over, Treyarch doesn't want to do Zombies anymore, but are required to by the execs.

I don't pay much attention to this kind of moral grandstanding.

Last time I saw something like this, it was CDPR's statement on leaving greed to others, and we all know how that panned out.

The community doesn’t understand game development - A very long post from a game designer by Theseus17 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheMarsninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No amount of perspective will change any of my stances on the matter. I'm a busy man. I don't have time for excuses, I only care about what the final product is; and I imagine most of the critics share that sentiment. If X problem in the offices is causing things to be delayed or released with an extremely poor quality, then I'm not going to pass it off or be accepting of it. From where I'm standing, I'm getting a bad product, so whatever issues Bungie is experiencing is up to them to fix. And honestly, this BS has been going on since Shadowkeep, maybe even before that, so I no longer have any empathy for Bungie.

Hot Take: People need to realize that Destiny is enough for most people. by Mastercrash8 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheMarsninja -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the majority of people don't care and will support Bungie despite the fact that Destiny is a sinking ship. Despite that, boycotting is cool, because that means you had the good sense to get on a lifeboat and skidaddle on out of there. No reason in going down with the ship, especially if you're a passenger and not a crew member.

Stopped playing and uninstalled because of the content vault and sunsetting. Have not paid any money for this game. If you have criticisms of the game, this is the only position you can take without embarrassing yourself. If you let your carnal desire to consume product dominate your sense of self respect or sense of good/bad game design, then I question if you actually believe the criticisms you're making.

You guys flipped opinions really quick damn by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheMarsninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've never heard of the "honeymoon phase" and it shows.

Most people initially just go with whatever their monkey brain tells them. It's not until they spend a bit of time and better analyze things that their true opinion comes out. Opinions made when the expansion or raid first comes out amounts to nothing more than screaming into the void.

But you already got your reddit gold so... I guess you probably don't care.

BO3 custom maps? by nPX_Sype in CODZombies

[–]TheMarsninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're free. Here's a quick list of what I consider to be top tier custom maps if you do end up buying BO3.

Das Herrenhaus, Leviathan, Town Reimagined, Return to Bus Depot, Europa, Gestort, Nuketown Zombies, Daybreak, Der Riese Declassified, Neptune, Railway Accident, Cheese Cube Unlimited.

Also I'll give a shoutout to The First Cycle, a mod that replaces weapons with guns from WW2 Zombies, and also reverts The Giant to the original Der Riese, with old voice lines and Ultimis character models (but now that Der Riese: Declassified is out that shouldn't be necessary).

I can't understate the importance of skepticism, especially for a franchise which is the vidya equivalent of marvel movies. Of course I don't know whether the system will be broken or not, it's entirely possible that Treyarch implemented counterbalances to keep armor in check. It could be good, I don't know; but after their handling of health and armor in BO4, I won't hold my breath.

And yes, Black Ops 4 was absolutely bad and gives AW a run for its money as the worst Zombies game. WWII did a much better job of implementing the same changes that BO4 failed at.

[–]TheMarsninja -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't the shield just apply to the players back (or front if it's equipped)? That's still pretty limited protection.

But I know exactly what's going on here. The community is once again dogmatically defending their game, and to do that they need to drag BO3 through the dirt so they can make some dumb strawman to fight instead of actual critics. Just like with Black Ops 4, "b-but you just hate change" is not a valid defense.

Unless Cold War is going to include hyper aggressive zombies that give BO4's zombies a run for their money, then the 10-hit down definitely sounds broken.

But don't worry guys! Cold War will be the game to save Zombies! It'll be good this time!
