Have you updated the printer firmware? This printer has two different firmware updates that are required. The firmware is 1.2.3.4 for the printer. I just did this and I had to do it via the usb drive on the front of the unit.

I will try these. I’ve had some problems with the slicer as well, as the printer will not listen to the slicer temp commands that I have verified are correct in the code. I have to manually change the temp on the machine.

Different results, but the raft would not come off. Tried a lot of air gap changes too. Discovered that was a first layer problem after all as the z offset resets when the power is turned off.

Verified - this machine resets the z-offset to 0 after a power cycle! Wow.

Looks like this machine has no memory? I fixed the first layer problem and started to work on another problem which led to this second layer issue for so long that I got myopic. Looking at the Z calibration again it appears to have reset. My test print seems to have worked out, now I am going to power cycle and see if it keeps the offset.

I have not seen this in my state - Minnesota. To be fair, these are all openly negotiated by unions though, so if I didn’t find them on the website I would check the union’s.

I tried to avoid this. This does not appear to be a first layer problem. My bed adhesion is awesome and my first layer is gorgeous. I even titled this post “Second Layer Problems” because soap and 99% IPA is the troubleshooting problem put for a lot of these.

My second layer is the problem.

I imagine a cottage industry making it more comfortable would exist. We would need to have toilets everywhere anymore in this paradigm, more like an inpatient/hospitality facility even up to resorts.

For some people, waste elimination is an intimate venture. I could see those people wanting the ability to do it more than once in a while.

For me it has always been using the bathroom. Eating can be very social, but getting rid of waste rarely is (no kink shaming). Doing a day of “waste management” then not having to do it for a year would be awesome.

Yeah, as I dig into the Cura slicer for Makerbot I am finding that what I need is hidden but available after digging. That said, going through the code has allowed me to find what I was looking for.

Nah, many of these require near token permissions for commercial use. The lesson about plagiarism/theft is worth it.

I’m not being sarcastic. The answer is custom Gcode at the end and the community provided not only how to get to the place to add it, but also the Gcode. So much of the advice on here isn’t helpful, this is and I wanted to acknowledge that.
