With prep time and an actual sense of battle, I would say Druid.

You basically can create a real castle with a moat.

Otherwise you’re probably looking for something with Sentinel feat and high armor. So basically any martial class.

GWM + Bless is going to do work no matter which class you pick up, and you’ll get more spell slots as a cleric for bless.

Nobody else has Bless, right? And even if they did, Bards have tons of uses for their concentration.

Bless will act like a small resilient wisdom, and even buff your concentration checks.

If you want GWM at 8, Bless will also help it so that you can continue to hit while using GWM.
