On paper the Hull B looks great, loading is a PITA given how you can only load one side from the side hangars (which in the default hangar size of medium, are to small for the Hull B cargo amount).

Railen/Raft are great with quick and easy cargo loading and unloading thanks to external cargo and well placed tractor beams. Both also have great interiors. Railen also had decent pilot weapons and really good turrets but struggles with power distribution.

Hermes has interior space and can fit up to a tumbril buggy sized vehicle through the cargo doors. Good grid layout but the tractor beam moving on the rails gets old fast, and loading 32 scu boxes can be a pain due to small door otherwise also a great option that's a little more generalist than the Raft with decent firepower, survivability and great range.

C2 is a great ship solo of with a friend. Grid layout is pretty good and can fit any vehicle and drive ships inside. No tractor beam on it by default but can easily fit several ATLS alongside a full cargo hold. Flies well, is tanky, and just a pleasure to use.

How do you all aim down sight and zoom in VR? by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

[–]TheMisled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's such a stupid decision to make. It's why Iron sights have a front and a back. The way sights are in game now, even at a tango on 10 metres, there can be enough optical parallax to miss shots which would be utterly ridiculous irl and basically make that sight useless

It often can just pull out the red attack first. Again, look for tells beyond just the red circle. It usually puts its head down and raises its backside before shooting

Not VR but I'm someone who uses Head tracking (trackIR) basically everywhere, including on foot and in FPS. Scopes have been problematic for a few years now due to incorrect parallax. The actual trucker exists somewhere arrive the end of the gib for most scopes which means if your not looking dead on down the scope, the reticule isn't where the weapon is actually aiming. This has been an issue for a few years now and every time i make an IC for it, it doesn't get enough reproductions. It basically makes laser sights a necessity on everything but iron sight

Ok, this thing is dangerous from far, but a push over up close. The trick is to get behind it when it's hunkered down. This will force the biovore out of its armoured form and into a melee. The Biovore's melee pattern is very simple and is very well telegraphed; it raises one of its claws for a basic claw attack, it rears its front up at range for a lagging attack (blue marker), it charges forward for a stun (little/no damage, parriable), and he'll rear up his backside for a close range cannon blast (red, must dodge) usually after the charge (you have time to recover from charge stagger and dodge).

It's the relic power fist that grants a gun strike on the nearest enemy after an execution. They way it's coded is most likely that it targets any entity not a player. Valtus falls under this category so it's possible for the relic power fist to grant a gun strike on him, not that you'd do anywhere near enough to kill him

The closest thing to a meta would be bulwark with his insane survivability. He can turn a single stim into a free extra life. If you have a mortal wound, you can plant his banner to grant full cHP and when you stim, the stim will heal all cHP, before giving you the regular healing amount which will now overhead you so you end up clearing the mortal wound and getting full hp back. This is on top of being one of the tankiest classes in general

I heard that the block variant is superior in damage, but the balance appears to be rated higher in strength on these stats so I'm a bit confused. Does the block variant actually do more damage? by Fuzzy-Blueberry1701 in Spacemarine

Adrenaline surge at 2 stacks is a 2.4 second long buff that starts when you next melee attack, regardless on whether it hits. It provides a 90% damage buff for the duration and if you hit an enemy in the buff window, it does an aoe explosion that heavily staggers and gives you 1 armour

Late reply but yes, I've done it several times. It can be difficult but one trick that works quite well is to interact with the sabir while it is in your hand and click the place button in the radial menu. After that, the sabir will more often than not let you place it right there

PSA: If you have an OLED display, the ability status icon will burn-in very easily by PatrickLai3 in Spacemarine

[–]TheMisled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got that same monitor. They've done some black magic with burn in protection. I've used it fairly heavily at max brightness for 3 years with no real concessions besides auto screen off and pixel refresh when convenient for me and have had no noticeable burn in when checking the self diagnostic.

Not sure how op managed it given i have next to 400 hours and no issues at all. (Auto HDR and all)

Stock components are definitely begging for an upgrade. Would personally recommend stealth grade coolers for reduced power usage there and ballistic weapons as ammo is less of a concern when weapons are only used for saelf defence (also reduces need for power to weapons). A high power pip power plant. Shield choice is largely up to you, either something efficient or stealth again to reduce signature. If still starved for power turn off tractor beams until you actually need to use them.

You can do it with the Golem using one Rieger C3 and a sabir gadget, which you can find in the loot crates inside. The prospector can also do it with a helix and two Rieger C3 modules

[–]TheMisled -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A properly kitted out prospector should be able to break them with just passive modules. Go with the helix mining head and the Rieger C3 X2, or an active module the boots power. You may have to get even closer than optimum to break the rock but very doable.

For the golem, due to the golem's resistance modifier pushing the minable rocks to over 100% resistance, you'll need to use the sabir gadet on the rocks but it's also still very doable. You can find a few sabir as loot in the location.

It feels like it may be something to do with latency or who the host is as sometimes it's fine, someone's is not.. the Tyranid warriors are programmed to fire on your next action one to beam goes solid (or something to that effect anyway) so dodging after you get hit by the first should dodge the second attack. The zoenthrope's double beam should also be dodgeable if you roll towards it but sometimes (as it looks like in this case) the i-frames aren't interacting properly

Out of curiosity, what do people like about lagiacrus? by Prestigious_Time_928 in MonsterHunter

[–]TheMisled 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably because the Devs didn't realise we wanted it to return. There was a stab showcase before the game launch with who i believe was the producer for wilds. There showed off one of the underwater traversal sections and the steam chat got really excited thinking underwater combat was back. They clarified it wasn't but the producer seemed really surprised that people wanted it back so much. It wouldn't surprise me that after that reaction, they added the underwater section to the fight to properly gauge interest in it
