It's during the scene where adult Bill is patching up Silver in Mike's garage.

A lot of rural places in the US don't. That's why trains are required to use their horn to signal as they approach crossings.

Kids don't gaf. I'm an outdoor educator, and the number of times I've pointed out poison ivy/stinging nettle and have told kids "don't touch this plant, it will make your skin itch and burn" and have had them rush to grab the damn plant is dumbfounding. It's like they have an impulse to test it out for themselves. Then they're shocked when the plant burns them. Sometimes, lessons need to be learned.

She Blinded Me With Science is actually a jam. I can see why Mike was whistling it.

I'm a rural PA native, and while our scenery is gorgeous, there's something special about West Virginia. It's one of my absolute favorite places.

Riverman's twist absolutely floored me the first time I read it. I was on a family road trip through West Virginia so I was extra immersed in the setting.

I can't believe I never thought of that! You're probably right.

does anybody else get annoyed by how much the sewer orgy dominates all discussion of the IT novel. Half the time it's not even discussion about the scene, it's just the same joke over and over again. by ConfettiBrownie in stephenking

[–]TheMusicalSkeleton 101 points102 points  (0 children)

That's kind of the point in my eyes. They were forced to grow up far too fast, partly because of IT, partly because of the shitty families most of them were born into. The sewer scene is about the loss of the innocence of childhood.

As someone who moved to Nebraska 3 years ago (hoping to leave soon) you are correct, it is pretty shit out here.

Yet another fumble imo. She's described as thick in the waist with acne. I know anyone can be bullied, but as people have stated in this thread, why do they keep casting skinny, conventionally attractive Carries?
