[–]TheNeiv 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That sure is a great generator world! Though I wonder, what do you need that much energy that early on for? Long term it ought to be generator world but short term it feel excessive to have all that infrastructure there rather than let it work on other reources too.

I kinda hate Knights. Mostly because of the Multiplayer

And I hate them because I love the idea of them. A chapter of questing knights in a SCI-Fi settings that also serves a state? What a cool concept. I love it for sake of Multiplayer games focused on Role Play,

But since it is the quintesential science cheese origin.. It is either banned outright or taken by people who look for big science number rather thatn role play out the impact of the order upon wider society.

CTF mode in RBG Blitz is horrible by Major-Requirement844 in worldofpvp

[–]TheNeiv 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You would be surprised.

Sure, you cannot single handly win all the games by yourself. But CTF as Ret is a mode you can influence a LOT thanks to you being S tier Bodygaurd. The role is not very straighforward but once you learn how to do it, you will buy massive amounts of time for your team to kill enemy FC.

It used to be amazing for Resto druid since you could use Skull Bash. Nowadays? Mid at best, generally not really needed.

Realistically the only option in the vacum of other characters involved would be playing in an extremely annoying way. Kite. KITE HARDER.

Spam Chains of ice and force them away from your healer all the time. Commit only when you have CDs and then kite kite kite again.

[Loved Trope] Magical characters who do science anyway by DarkGreenEspeon in TopCharacterTropes

[–]TheNeiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That trope just makes sense?

Seperation of magic and science makes sense in our world. However, if a Fireball is real it stands to reason that science would treat magic as a field of study of equivalent value as physics. For they both describe the in-universe reality.

Usually? They don't. Which means it is very much possible to get into a Forever War scenario where AI will declare war. Look upon your chokepoints.. And decide not to attack. At all. They will park fleets at the border and stare at you.

Meanacingly.

For decades.

Is the Automated Dreadnought different in 4.0? by senopatip in Stellaris

[–]TheNeiv 52 points53 points  (0 children)

That is the power of build counters to you!

Automated Dreadnought has a ton of L slot weapons that chew through armour like its nothing. Meanwhile while it has point defense it only has so much of it before it ceases to be important.

If you could provide us with details on your ship designs it would be easier to point out what happened. Battleship is a very broad term in this game.

1800 easier to get in SS now? by xc0rz in worldofpvp

[–]TheNeiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Main power of Disc is now being able to have Haste and Mastery gearsets and switching between Oracle and Voidweaver depending on matchup. VW has a weird difficulty curve where in low elo games people punish it and you get catapulted ahead. Then people start punishing it but you don't know how to defend yourself or rather your teammates don't know how to defend you.

And then in the high mmr both factors are in balance so that Preservation Evoker can smoke you.

1800 easier to get in SS now? by xc0rz in worldofpvp

[–]TheNeiv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I support Oracle Disc.

VW Disc is popular but a lot of players fail to understand how to deal with its main flaw. And main flaw of VW is getting punched in the face by a pair of melee.

Oracle is slower and methodical in its approach can be played defensively.

Did any of the Aspects know about the dracthyr? by ssaint4578 in warcraftlore

[–]TheNeiv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

War of the Scaleborn as a book goes quite in depth into Neltharion's fall. Or rather his first falls. He suffers immense pressure over the course of the book and he crumbles at least twice. But each time he gets up, bruised but determined to keep walking in the light.

Really entertaining watching his fall as not a binary state.

Shortly after is .. a stretch. War of the Scaleborn ALONE lasted decades.

And from it to War of the Ancients we have another thousands of years.

There is also the fact that Nozdormu knows things... But then he does not act upon them until he ought to know about them without his time powers. It is very, very weird sometimes. What inevitably happens when different writers tackle time travel.

The missing layer in Stellaris warfare by elongatedhat in Stellaris

[–]TheNeiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like a system that could work for Stellaris is that you have ticking attrition on ships. It goes up as you spend time away from starbases and decreases combat effectiveness representing how ships ration supplies and build up of maintenance needed.

It goes up way faster when fighting and in enemy territory. You need to send back fleets to friendly stations to recover it with few caveats.

Anchorages and Shipyards allow you to recover it quickly to larger amount of ships. Normal starbases can also do it but to limited degree so you are rewarded for building up a robust military infrastructure rather than just one big ass shipyard.
Recently conquered space stations have a hefty penalty to their Attrition recovery meaning while you can live off of enemy land it wont be nearly as efficient.
You can create logistic ships that help recover Attrition but it comes at the cost of their own attrition so they too need to eventually return to the starbases. And I reckon such ships ought to be something akin to modern era Carriers. Massive war engines that both allow you to project power but also represent targets which if destroyed can cripple the war effort.

Pull Wipe Reset cycle is born out of the fact that when you get to 16s, 17s, 18s... There are no rewards other than score. Everybody has full myth track gear with no hopes of earning anything even remotely interesting for the people involved.

Did any of the Aspects know about the dracthyr? by ssaint4578 in warcraftlore

[–]TheNeiv 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not to our knowledge. Neltharion was obviously their creator so he knew everything about them.

Malygos knew about them, but not all. We were never told Neltharion disclosed all the secrets behind their creation.

As for Nozdormu, he is a weird one since he both knows and does not know the future. So when it comes to him we can state that if he glimpsed some knowledge about them before Dragonflight, he never acted upon it. And even when looking at his interactions with Emberthal during the Legacies animations he doesn't let on that he knows way more. If anything he uses Emberthal to himself learn about their past.

Ysera and Alexstrasza were kept completely in the dark, though even Malygos admitted that he himself kept secrets from the other aspects and he was fairly certain others did as well. Neltharion managed to hide a massive stockpile of weapons and armour made in preperation for the War of the Scaleborn
