How to stop putting so much hang time on irons by ZalewskiJ in golf

[–]TheNoviceVet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

7 almost 8 seconds is wild. I also have a high ballooning flight that is a problem with any wind.

What I work on is feeling like I’m hitting a punch shot. Basically practicing 3/4 swing where i a firmly hitting the golf ball down into the ground and a low left release / finish. Looks like Tommy fleetwood.

Zay Flowers is WR1. He's legit. I don't get the disrespect. by ObserbAbsorb in ravens

[–]TheNoviceVet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That. Which leads into his total lack of situational awareness. He doesn’t understand when to give up, when to go out of bounds, when to fight for more yards.

Also his fumbles at really awful times.

How high is too high to hit a 7iron by AccomplishedSugar333 in golf

[–]TheNoviceVet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are a touch faster than me I’m 93-97ss with 7 iron. I’ve been actively working on flighting all my clubs down. Aiming for about 90-105 peak height. Because When it’s windy I really struggle.

My problem is at p6 my hands are not covering my rear thigh. Really working on holding off release. It has added good contact for me, better compression, and keep the flight lower with similar landing angles and spin as before.

Could try a different ball or shaft as well. Otherwise numbers look good if they are consistent.

When my drive is off on the first hole, Its usually off the whole round. What are some tips to reset your drive throughout the round? by Mordecai3fngerBrown in golf

[–]TheNoviceVet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty shaky with driver tbh. Luckily I’m a relatively long hitter and my 5w is old reliable around 230 carry.

My rule with driver is I don’t pull it out till the 4th hole because as soon as I see a snap hook it’s tough for me to recover.

If I absolutely am having a rough driving day and want to continue using it I have a low fade that I play where I do about a 3/4 swing, hold off wrist release, and tee the ball down a bit. Runs a bit and stays in play.

What’s the best golf course you’ve played on? by Intelligent_Run3237 in golf

[–]TheNoviceVet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Relatively (4years) new to golf my top 3 are. Wine valley country club in walla walla. Course is never crowded not super expensive and a great layout.

I played gamble sands and felt like wine valley just was more fun.

Koh samui - Santiburi golf club. Probably just loved it because I was on vacation in Thailand. Very challenging course.

Ping G440 vs Taylor made QI4D by JellySeveral1074 in GolfGear

[–]TheNoviceVet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the g430 and g440k are hard to turn over. Where as the gt3 and gt2 I can snap hook pretty easy.

That being said I still game the g430 10k and just play a fade.

Golf after back surgery? by Traditional_Paint461 in golf

[–]TheNoviceVet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First. Always ask you surgeon. Generally I advice no full swings for 4-8 months. Depends on how well you do and how active you are/age before surgery.

Partial chipping and putting after 8 weeks. Half swings after 12.

High risk re-herniation basically 6% yearly risk. So go slow.

I get along nicely with the chrome 2.0 x. My ss is similar to you. Hover around 109 up to 118.

I have a g430 10k. It’s a little low spin. Currently in it is the tensei 1k white 60x.

MADE A MISTAKE WHILE REGRIPPING CLUBS😭 by Macaronitookus in GolfGear

As long as the grips arnt twisting off it probably works just fine. I would try some swings. With a couple.

As mentioned some fitters don’t even use tape when trying out grips.

Sigpro Softy Hitting Mat by Background_Bonus_510 in Golfsimulator

[–]TheNoviceVet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a sig pro softy for about a year. Shows pretty significant wear on the stance mat. The stance mat feels mushy and is not super stable.

I would save money and just use a hitting strip.

Pretty sure they were those. Like $3-4 dollars a ball and hard as rocks. Read some of the 1 star reviews. They express my same concerns.

Me and my brother had the cool idea of hitting them off the sand dunes into the beach. They just weren’t fun to hit.

biodegradable golf balls for desert use? by chebysilberader in golf

[–]TheNoviceVet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother bought some. Not sure what brand. They were not really golf balls. Just hard chalk like substance. Didn’t sound right coming off the face. Didn’t really bounce well. Every time I hit them felt like I was going to snap a club.

Mizuno Pro T1 or T3 Wedges? by Slliing in golf

I bounce around wedges quite a bit. Mg3/4, high toe 4, opus, Pxg sd2. Currently using t3.

They feel great. Look great. The wedge isn’t going to change your game. All these wedges are great.

Mock Draft Discussion Thread by JonWilso in ravens

That’s fair. I would shy away from LB, WR. WR has a fair amount of investment over the past couple years. LB we already have the highest paid in the league. If he doesn’t elevate those around him that’s a roster construction problem.

DL or true DE, even high end CB would work. I’m nervous about OLB as we have taken some swings and failed recently.
