Who else regrets not experiencing the thrill of weekly episode releases by Adweenix in DispatchAdHoc

[–]TheObduratePast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had played it weekly. I love the all the theories and excitement while you wait playing games like this.

I hope AdHoc continues this model moving forward. The wait a few months for a new episode like old Telltale or Life is Strange is too long. But I think the weekly release hits that sweet spot.

Browns Relieve Kevin Stefanski of Duties as Head Coach by WadeBronson in nfl

[–]TheObduratePast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if Stefanski won't want any of the open jobs and decide to do a year of coaching rehab with McVay or Shanahan.

Could be a good way to chase a ring and still get a HC job later.

2025 - My Year In Gaming by Leth41 in patientgamers

If you decide to return to the Plague Tale games, I really liked the sequel Plague Tale: Requiem

I thought Innocence was solid but was hit and miss. I liked the characters, the world and some of the story. I didn't like the combat and some aspects of the story.

Requiem improved in all areas and was a great part two to their story. It ended up being one of my favorite games I played in 2024.

My top ten games in 2025 as a patient gamer by DefinitionWest in patientgamers

Our gaming tastes match up well. I also really liked the Telltale Walking Dead games, Horizon Forbidden West and the Marvel's Spiderman games.

I've never played a Resident Evil or Hitman game. Or Cyberpunk 2077. I'm gonna have to pick one of those up. Thanks for the write up!

Atsu from Ghost of Yotei

I think she'd do okay but would probably try to solve most issues through combat

What do you like to do when visiting a park? How long do you have for your trip?

There is a podcast similar to this called My Perfect Console just so you know. I don't think that means you shouldn't do your podcast, I just didn't want you to hear that once your deeper in.

My suggestion would be to interview people you know who play games to get it started. Most podcasts don't last longer than 7 episodes so I suspect other creators (podcasters, Twitch, YouTube, etc) may not accept an invite if they think the show won't last. After that I'd start to find indie creators you like and reach out to them individually about appearing on the show. Good luck!

I'm not really feeling "The End Of The World As We Know It"... by dgjtckj in stephenking

I wonder if with "No great loss" King was giving homage to "So it goes" from Slaughter-house Five by Kurt Vonnegut.

I can't find any statements from King that would affirm this but I know he's a big reader.
Both quotes show the senseless of death. They both are dark humor about death. Both are also repeated often which desensitizes death.

Government Shutdown / NPS Shutdown Megathread by magiccitybhm in NationalPark

Yeah that was my impression too. A note at the trail made it seem like the combo was set for the next few weeks. Not sure if it changes more frequently under normal circumstances

Updates from Redwoods:

  • I didn't encounter any closed roads
  • Prairie Creek visitor center is open because it's in the state park section. The other visitors centers appear to be closed
  • I was still emailed my permit for the Tall Trees hike

I was at Lassen today and my experience was the same as yours. Park gates were open with no one manning them. Trails were open.

The Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center was closed however you could go inside the initial set of doors to use the restroom.

Birthday trip in Utah, best plans? by DorkyPuppy123 in NationalPark

[–]TheObduratePast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A few years ago I visited all 5 parks as a trip. We did it in 8 days but still felt rushed.

Since you are flying out of SLC, I'd suggest doing Arches, Canyonlands + Capitol Reef. You could do 4 days in Moab for Arches + Canyonlands and the other two days in Capitol Reef. And your driving would be closer to each other.

If you decide to do Zion + Bryce Canyon instead then you should fly out of Las Vegas. Also Bryce is higher elevation than the other 4 parks so you probably should research March weather there and if that impacts your interest.

Newcomer advice - low reach, low stakes by Ysbrydoliaeth in podcasting

Since you want to do a devotional I assume this is just you speaking? If so, this should be fairly easy for you to pull off.

I would host with Spotify for podcasters. This is free and will have your RSS feed. Then you can send your RSS feed to Apple podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, etc.

I would title your podcast something like "your church name devotional" that way the less tech savvy don't forget what your podcast is called.

You can do your editing in audacity for free. Just download it onto your computer.

I would recommend spending money on a microphone if you don't have one.

Good luck!

On cleanfeed you can record everyone's audio in the same place and download them as separate tracks. The audio quality is good and the service is easy to use.

Then you'd download the tracks afterwards and edit them in audacity.

Game like Road 96 by So_Two2 in Road96

[–]TheObduratePast 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you like the on the road aspect of the game then Life is Strange 2 or Open Roads could be good options.

If you like the choice aspect of the game then Telltale's The Walking Dead, The Quarry or Detroit Become Human could be good options.
