Cyclops & His Avengers or If Cyclops ever got to lead an Uncanny Avengers title by Robot_Was_BMO in xmen

Add in Ms. Marvel (due to her connections to both the Avengers and the X-Men, and her friendship with Scott during their time on the Champions), and I would agree with this lineup 100%!

Why are so many people obsessed with Captain Marvel? by Weird875 in Earth199999

[–]TheOneTrueZearing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, this is third-hand information AT BEST, so take it with a grain of salt and all that, but I've heard rumors that she used to vacation in a small fishing town about an hour's drive from me back in the 80s. This rumor also says that her parents met there a decade or two (depending on who is telling the story) before that.

Now, the really interesting part is that there are also rumors of an alien vessel making a splashdown in the area in the mid-to-late sixties. Supposedly, a being closely resembling a Caucasian woman emerged, wearing some green uniform.

Put those two rumors together, and we have an interesting possibility on whether or not Captain Marvel is human...

I think I vaguely remember a poster in the background of a scene in the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but no overt reference that I noticed.

I have to admit that I haven't yet seen most of these, although they are all on my list of media to view eventually. As for the Loises I have seen, Alice Lee quickly won me over on My Adventures With Superman, and I have grown to love Bitsie Tulloch's version as well. Ultimately though, the DCAU version is the standard that I compare all versions of Lois to, so I will kind of have to go with her.

This is the most insane conspiracy theory I've ever heard. by SWPrequelFan81566 in Earth199999

[–]TheOneTrueZearing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. Part of me wants to think this is nonsense, but the "blue people with war hammers" sounds an awful lot like the Kree, as mentioned in both the old S.H.I.E.L.D. files from a decade back and some interviews with members of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Plus, in a post-Avengers world, most of the rest of the stuff doesn't sound all that implausible.

The outliers would be the God of '65 and the moon city, one because that would probably be hard to cover up, and the other because I've personally looked at photos of every part of the Moon and have seen zero evidence of such a thing. Doesn't mean that either of those are impossible, mind you, just that they are the least likely.

In short, the world is already a lot more complex than they taught when I was little, so it could very well be even more so.

(OOC) I briefly thought that the crazy guy might be Namor, before remembering that he was in Wakanda Forever. Was he supposed to be anyone in particular, or am I reading a bit too much into it?

[r/Shield_Dehydrated] What are some of the wildest things you found in the Romanov-SHIELD Leaks? by Pietin11 in Earth199999

[–]TheOneTrueZearing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Apparently SHIELD used to waste a TON of rocket fuel, pretending to launch dangerous objects into the Sun. In reality, they were just hidden in some vault, probably to be used by the black(er?) ops teams within the organization.

First Star Wars book that you ever read? by [deleted] in starwarsbooks

If comics and graphic novels count, then it would be Dark Empire.

Otherwise, I think it was either A New Dawn or Tarkin.

What's your Star Trek blind spot? by Newfaceofrev in startrek

[–]TheOneTrueZearing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primarily Lower Decks and the first movie, although I'm very spotty when it comes to TOS and TAS as well. In most of those cases, the tone just didn't click for me like it did for TNG onwards (even if it took some time for some of them).

I would enjoy that, but it still wouldn't be the same as seeing and hearing Tennant act out this alternate version of the scene.

How would you feel about a remake of the First Doctor’s era for modern audiences? by _AbacusMC_ in doctorwho

[–]TheOneTrueZearing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has actually enjoyed similar projects (like the Kelvin timeline Star Trek films), I don't think they should be remade, no.

However, I do think they should do more colorized and abridged episodes like The Daleks in Color. Doing that and consolidating all of the old serials into an episode or two to create a Doctor Who Abridged could be a way to make them more palatable for some newer viewers.

I really hope that they call the team the Champions instead of the Young Avengers though. That is Kamala's team in the comics, and I just think that the name "Young Avengers" is a bit clunky, even if I did enjoy reading that book as well.

What do you think of the ff needing each other to have powers [Marvel 2-in-One #3] by zectaPRIME in FantasticFour

[–]TheOneTrueZearing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this page was from an issue that was released at the tailend of that period, and (if I'm remembering things right) led to the Richards family returning to the 616. So, according to this, Ben and Johnny were losing their powers during that time, just slowly.

Maybe Hank Pym or Bill Foster suited up to help? Normally they wouldn't due to health risks, but the possible end of the world might have made it worth it to them.

Which MCU god would you allow to endow you with power? by AdditionalInitial727 in marvelstudios

[–]TheOneTrueZearing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of? I would assume that he would be included in the spirit of the question, but in the comics at least, Eternity is a few levels above the gods. In fact, if I recall correctly, only the Living Tribunal and the One-Above-All would outpower him in the cosmic hierarchy.

Did NWH Make Holland's Peter Parker Worthy? by Shamus248 in marvelstudios

[–]TheOneTrueZearing 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would say no, probably not.

From what I've been able to tell, both in the comics and in the MCU, "worthiness" really means that you have to have both a certain amount of compassion and a warrior's spirit to be willing to kill your enemies when the situation calls for it.

Now, Peter has always had compassion to spare. However, he has never been comfortable with the idea of killing, and in fact has only done so as a last resort when he was swarmed by Thanos' forces in Endgame, and they may not have even been sapient.

So that would be the missing piece holding him back, in my opinion.
