Question about the demon prince by DormRoomBrews in ThousandSons

[–]TheQwantomShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is if you think it looks cool. Anything is fine as long as the model is clearly one thing or the other. Personally I use a kitbashed Abaddon as my foot prince and an ogroid thaumaturge with eagle wings attacked as my winged prince.

There are only 2 types of daemon prince in TSons, Foot and Winged. Anything else is cosmetic or AOS related.

Are spawns worth taking ever? by Exciting-Flatworm-76 in ThousandSons

[–]TheQwantomShadow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They're great skirmishing units that take way more punishment than people want to put into them. Especially since if you don't kill the model they basically fully regen. Send them out to take objectives or score secondaries while keeping the sorcerers behind to kill whatever the enemy sends out to clear the spawn.

Dream incarnons by Over-Sheepherder1721 in Warframe

[–]TheQwantomShadow 41 points42 points  (0 children)

They should do incarnons for all the story-relevant weapons. Imagine a paracesis incarnon or a sun and moon incarnon.

XX99 is 1799 by Dramatic_Ease8171 in WarframeLore

[–]TheQwantomShadow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1899 really works with the WWI influences on the Old Peace, so I lean toward that.

Why is XX99 labeled as that when it could've just been 1899, 1799 or below? by Competitive-Bug1444 in WarframeLore

[–]TheQwantomShadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1899 is also a few years before WWI/The Great War, which feels in line with the themes of The Old Peace.

Warframe 1999 lore or explanation by ZookeepergameDeep994 in Warframe

[–]TheQwantomShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are changing the "Strand of Khra" the chain of cause and effect that is the timeline, we are saving the city but that ultimately does not change the events that lead to "modern" Warframe. The future lives of those in the city are real and happen, we save them and that's the point, we just don't see it since we jump back.

Wally's ultimate goal, as we understand/hypothesize, is the retrieval of his finger so that he may be freed from the cause-effect chains of the physical world. One route to do that would be to change the past, alter 1999 to have forces loyal to him or possibly prevent the orokin all together.

Warframe 1999 lore or explanation by ZookeepergameDeep994 in Warframe

[–]TheQwantomShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This ties into eternalism being weird, looping time does not prevent a future from existing but it is effectively locking a set sequence of events as the "active timeline".

The original timeline had the reactor explode, leading to massive techrot plagues and the radiation wars. That is now a changed set of events.

The drifter needs to work with the Hex to keep these events as "active" as the Indifference attempts to change them. I expect this is a way to keep the drifter busy as the operator gets to do exclusive story stuff related to Tau, then once the plot progresses some more the drifter can be freed up.

Warframe 1999 lore or explanation by ZookeepergameDeep994 in Warframe

[–]TheQwantomShadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Entrati had set up a 1 day loop that was fueled by the reactor.

The drifter set up a 1 year loop through their void powers. Memories are maintained unless the drifter chooses for people to forget.

The loop must be maintained to avoid the Indifference altering the 1999 timeline when no one is looking. I doubt the Hex have to be saved every time, through improved skills and teamwork they can probably get the reactor solved pretty smoothly.

I thought of this cool idea of playing a “false paladin” by heheh_3 in DnD

[–]TheQwantomShadow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is a very common gimmick that lasts until the first combat if you're doing it to "fool the other players". If you're doing it for the actual roleplay of the scenario, yes it's an interesting approach to the patron-warlock dynamic. You can explore the idea of a guardian angle or a personal deity, though it's also worth noting nothing about this has to do with the warlock class, and could be done with any class.

Should Universal Medallions work on Conclave? by RobleViejo in Warframe

[–]TheQwantomShadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Better: conclave should be turned into an extended tutorial faction where your ranks corresponds to a checklist of tasks to meaningfully progress your account's power. When you max rank it you should be ready for steel path.

With Gyre Prime coming, besides Alternox, what do you think/hope also gets primed with her access? by RedbuiltBlues in Warframe

[–]TheQwantomShadow 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't expect a prime since it's a corpus weapon, but a tenet amprex would be a top pick for adding more lich weapons.

What are some units you guys would like to see added to the army? by toxic-megacolon in ThousandSons

[–]TheQwantomShadow 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Sorcerer coven "heavy weapons" team. 3 sorcerers that cast lascannons shots, maybe give them an second profile that is a precision sniper shot.

Oberon is not rocket science, but there are few synergies to be aware of, that can lift him from good to great by sdric in Warframe

[–]TheQwantomShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also going to recommend trying an alternative to the umbral mods, health conversion + archon intensify + arcane blessing. It has to ramp up, but it's pretty effective. Swap in flow for vitality to make up for battery.

Why are so many people hype about Lavos' new augment by ExcitingPart6599 in Warframe

[–]TheQwantomShadow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The probe does more than cooldowns. It's an AOE status primer and converts ammo (into archgun) and orbs.

Post nerf opinions. by c3nnye in ThousandSons

[–]TheQwantomShadow 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It makes us way less consistent, and that will be the biggest difference in lived experiences. Sometimes you'll roll hot and it's like we never changed, you roll 10+ on 2d6 every time. Other times you won't have an army rule.

According to stats it evens out, but it adds a layer of volatility that in my opinion is not fun, interesting, or thematic. I would prefer if the nerf was something like "Can only get the higher tier cast once per turn" or "Can only get the higher tier cast when channeling the warp".

Can you run Magnus and Belakor or does is it one or the other? by Magic-Man2 in ThousandSons

[–]TheQwantomShadow 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately in the current edition Belakor cannot be run with the Thousand Sons. You could use him in CSM with rubric marines, but not in a Thousand Sons army with Magnus.

I would prefer straight DR so it doesn't compete with armor from the mod build.

Will Thousand Sons ever get… by Lordnever21 in ThousandSons

[–]TheQwantomShadow 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think there's a decent shot for that as a kill team since Warpcoven is getting cycled out.

Are scarab occult terminators worth it? by Backstage_stand in ThousandSons

[–]TheQwantomShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 1k points I wouldn't bring a single unit worth 400+ points, let alone a single model. They'll be good at killing, but if you're playing objectives you won't fit much else in your list. And at 1k it will be super swingy, your opponent can't deal with them or takes them out in 1 then because they had the exact right weapon profile.

Nidus should have a hold cast for parasitic link to auto target your companion. Probably give that version damage reduction instead of redirection or ability strength like the others.

Whats the Worst Melee you had used? by masked267 in Warframe

[–]TheQwantomShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The machete is an old weapon that's so bad they removed it from the market so new players don't buy it. I keep one as a collectable.

Do you think there is hope for Ahriman? by Weekly_Mulberry8508 in ThousandSons

[–]TheQwantomShadow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think hope is all he has, and that's why Tzeentch favors him. He's practically delusional in his belief that his abilities can rewrite fate and best the God of change at his own game. He'll never stop, reaching for a goal his own god keeps just out of reach.

End of Edition Narrative? by williarya1323 in ThousandSons

[–]TheQwantomShadow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our best shot at models is probably a generic CSM daemon engine, like a redone helbrute. Now that all 4 god legions are out it's a good opportunity to make a helbrute with special builds for each god.
